Who cheers you on the most in your life when it comes to eating low carb and improving your health? Who's in your corner always and gives you unconditional support -- even if they don't do low carb themselves?
This is a great place for us to vent, get support from other forum members, and discuss the pain in our lives and it is great. I was just thinking today it would be so nice to give credit to our "biggest fans" and focus on those who are really behind us day-to-day. :)
Also, what are the things they do that help you the most??
I'll start! For me, it is definitely my Mom first, then it would be my friend Jackie, my husband, my husband's mother and his aunt. They really try to do all they can to help me and support what I'm doing. (I know! I'm so BLESSED)
For example, they try to cook something low-carb when they know I'm coming over. My husband's aunt always experiments with low carb desserts just for me. My Mom listens, is my emotional rock, eats low carb with me, encourages me in fitness, cheers me on in every aspect of the WOE. When I started low carb, my friend Jackie came over EVERY morning for MONTHS and ate scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast with me. When I was busy, she even cooked it. How nice is that!!?? There's more, but I'll save it for later in the thread:)

You are lucky to have people who care about you so much and that actually WANT to see you succeed!!! Lucky!! Everyone thinks I am crazy.

I would say mainly my online friends that's it.. I find that alot of people such as family and friends in real life just think I'm loosing my mind completely.

I have to admit, when I first started, I had to do a lot of explaining to my family and friends -- you know, about stuff like how your body processes certain foods and resulting effects, etc. They were not at all familiar with Atkins or LCing.
The thing that really got my family behind me early on was the fact that my 2-3 times per month debilitating migraines (my first one was at 11 years old and I started Atkins in my mid-30s -- that's a LOT of lose-at-least-a-day headaches) completely disappeared! I rarely even get a headache of any kind now, and prior to LC, I just went from painkiller to painkiller, daily. I bought the industrial size Aleve and never moved a step without it OR Excedrin Migraine formula.
They were fascinated by that and could not argue that -- or my subsequent weight loss -- or my increased energy and happiness. They realize that breads and sugars are poisons to my system and that I have to eat what's left of the food groups! :)

Honestly? Myself and the friends I have here in the TDC.
I have no support at home, my family is just embarrassed of me being fat and want me to get skinny as soon as possible, my fiancé eats whatever he wants and then whines that he needs to lose like 60 pounds… My friends are all jealous and try to sabotage my diet, my coworkers tell me I look good but that I’m messing with my health…
I keep myself motivated

I agree with Misskimbee - Superaunt is my biggest fan. Listening to her, encourages me to do the best I can. Of course my twin sister and mom want me to be happy and so they cheer me on. My kids are also one of my biggest fans, they won't let me cheat unless its my birthday :).

my mom. she started on this low carb journey with me and emails me every day that one of us is out of town. she is supercook when she is home I make brekfast, she makes dinner we split the lunch load.
she sees my with all the love and critical awareness that comes with being mom. she sees my progress before I do and points it out when i feel down
she laughs at my bad jokes and lets me tell her "move your not-so-fat arse"

This is going to sound really strange but my biggest (and only) cheerleader is my ex DH (we're still friends). He and I started LC together over 2 years ago. He mostly LCs now but not as diligently as before (a CAD type WOE). I still do Atkins OWL.
He is the ONLY person I get any support from IRL. My motivation comes from within and from this board.
Everyone else in my life thinks that either I am crazy, eating disordered or about to drop dead any minute from lack of sugar/starch.

 thanks Kim and Trishka for saying that I'm your biggest fan! I could cry as I really didn't know I had that kind of impact on you guys... but then again, YOU guys have that impact on me!! :)
This website has been a lifesaver, so I'd have to attribute lowcarber.org, these forums, and all these fabuluous members as my biggest fan when it comes to this WOL cuz I'm certain I would've gone back to my old WOE long ago if it wasn't for you guys and this site!

My coworker Connie is my biggest fan....helped by the fact that we are personal friends and she is a low carb fanatic. My family tries to be supportive but they don't understand lo carb and that hinders them.
My greatest support system next to Connie is this board.
Thank you all!!!!!

I also have to give credit to this forum. I can honestly say that, although I have a LOT of support, being here and reading all of these posts has renewed my inspiration and helped to "re-motivate" me in the LC WOL.
So, I'll add my thanks to all of you sincere, honest, helpful, insanely intelligent, hardworking low-carbers out there!! Thank you so much!! :)
It is so great to read all of your "biggest fan" kudos!!
Keep 'em coming!!

MY MOM! She is my rock! When I call her to tell her that I lost 1 pound she cheers and carries on as if I had lost 100 pounds! She is my life!
And of course this website!! I would not have been able to do this without you all!

Hi,
I have to say with out a doubt this forum especially the food addicts sanctuary. I could fill a whole page of names of people who I read here every day and learn things from. I think I embarrass my teen age daughter I know, it is just that age group mind thought. My hubby is the type that will not say anything until at the end when I reach my goal ,he will say I knew you could do it but during the voyage it is like he doesn't know what to say.
I would have given up by now if not for this group. In the past when i lost weight, it came off like cold butter in a hot frying pan. Now that i have severe food allergies and am perimenopause it is coming off so slow. I know eventually I can do it with the help of my internet friends.

Wow! what great posts. :D And what great 'losers' you all are!
And Betsy.. I LOVE your horsey in your signature! hehe
my biggest fan.. is My DH :D he's loved me from the day we met (took me a while longer... ) and at my slimest and fatest.. just the same! :D
He's encouraged me, and given me the 'look' when I've been tempted... :) And even supported me when I've needed a 'break' from losing... just maintained for a while. :)
Can you tell we're in love? :rheart:
