i heard that Dreamfields pasta will no longer be available, but can't find anything on the internet to support that or not. Does anyone know?

I haven't heard that they are going out of business but there are less stores that are carrying that line.
I asked recently when I noticed that the store that I usually buy Dreamfield's at had it on clearance as 'discontinued' and they told me that even though they were discontinuing the product that the manager would be willing to special order it for me since I expressed disappointment that they were discontinuing a product that was very useful to me as a diabetic.
You might try asking the store manager where you shop if they would be willing to special order it for you as well. If enough people ask for it, they may consider keeping a small supply in stock instead of discontinuing it altogether.
I just bought some today at Albertsons in Ft. Walton Beach, FL

I recently wrote the company. They assured me that they will still be selling it in stores such as Albertsons and Vons (safeway). I live in southern california, and it has been pulled from many supermarkets, but it is still alive and well at Albertsons.

Here in Minnesota, they stopped carrying any LC foods, everything has been discounted or thrown out, the only things that remain are LC tortillas and some of the Atkins bars. Other then that I can't find the ketchup any where but Wal-Mart!
Well, bummer, we don't need the frankenfoods anyways! I have had a box of dreamsfield pasta in my cupboard for months now! Hope it sticks around so when I get to maintenace I can eat it! :)

I can't find it here in Virginia either. The only store that carried it was Walmart and they said that it had been discontinued...

I think that a lot of the products aren't being handled by the big stores but you can probably still order online or get from low-carb specialty stores.

Cindie, I live in Richmond, VA and several Kroger's here have it.

Wal-mart has discontinued ordering Dreamfields. The company itself still sells to Krogers and it's affiliates as well as the Lo-Carb Marketplace. Those are the only two I'm certain of.

There was a coupon for Dreamfields in my paper yesterday. I guess that means they're still in business for at least another week!

I saw a television commercial for Dreamfields last week too, they must be bumping up the advertising!

I ordered Dreamfields from Netrition just the other day. They didn't really "say" anything about low quantities, so I'm assuming we're still good.

Dreamfields was supposed to do to potatoes and rice what they did to pasta. I wonder if that is still in the works. I also thought I heard they were going to come out with lasagne pasta?

I haven't been able to find Dreamfield's here for MONTHS. We used to have Albertson's in my area but about 2 years ago they became Sav-A-Centers (with a much worse overall selection of everything, IMHO), and neither they nor Wal-Mary carry the stuff (as well as many of the other LC products I liked).
When hurricane Katrina roared through here, we evacuated for a month to Pennsylvania; I looked everywhere there as well, figuring I would buy some and ship it to myself when the mail started running again. Couldn't find it there, either........

Netrition is cheaper than Kroger here, even when you consider shipping! Kroger has Dreamfields for around $2.50, Netrition for less than $2 IIRC.

I found Dreamfields Spaghetti, Elbows, and Penne at a GNC here in Pittsburgh. It was a really big display too considering how small the store is. GNC is (or was) based out of Pittsburgh, so I don't know if that has anything to do with this one carrying. Hopefully, they are all carrying it. Also, it was $3.29 a box which isn't bad and if you have GNC's card that you can use once a month you can save another 20% I think.

Is this dreamsfield pasta any good taste wise? I'm only 2 weeks in induction but I'd love a spaghetti dinner. How long do you need to wait before eating something like this? I don't know the carb count in it. I'd have to order it and the shipping cost is more than the pasta unless you order alot (which I hate to do till I taste it) so I'm debating if it's worth it.

In the penne kind it is 5 carbs for 3/4 cup (dry) so you it is highly likely that you will end up eating more than one serving. I think it is very good taste-wise. I just bought some more from www.netrition.com. I think it is worth it on an occasion.
Tastes like the real stuff. My family can't tell the difference. I got rave reviews for the mac and cheese I made with it!

Nope it cooks up to a large amount if you mix it in with some type of main dish saucy food. Like a chili (I use it insead of rice now) or pasta sauce, or add some to your soup to bulk it up. If you add one serving to a whole pot of soup - you only eat about 1/10 of a serving each time (depending on how big a pot of soup you make). It's very filling, this dreamfields pasta.

JJB2000 I would not suggest you try any wheat product (low carb or otherwise) while in the induction phase of any lc diet, wait for the OWL phase (phase 2). Remember you are trying to purge your body of many of the things that affected your biochemistry to begin with and for many of us that includes wheat, which is the main ingredient in Dreamfields.
Some people have no problem with Dreamfields but others have a terrible time with it messing with their blood sugar and causing cravings. Personally I think people who have trouble with it are most likely truly gluten sensitive and might have trouble with any wheat product (I fall into this category), but remember you need to go slow, try a little at a time, and see your body's reaction to it, but only after the induction phase is completed, however long you decide to stay in phase 1.
I would encourage you to use spaghetti squash or yam noodles (Shirataki), they make a great substitution for noodles and have no wheat, and are better to use on induction.

PS…with that being said Dreamfields tastes great and it is the only pasta I let my family eat now because I feel better about it than regular pasta made with refined white flour...you can purchase it online if you can not find it at a local market, it is worth the extra dollar, your family will not know the difference, but do not overcook it or otherwise you effect the carb intake (see the rest of the discussion for explanation).

I did not know you were not supposed to overcook because it would effect the carb counts. I wonder if it is the same with reheating it? Do you have any other info on this? Thanks!

Although we can get no official information from the manufacturers, most people on the forums I visit have found that reheating or overcooking removes the 'protective' factor in Dreamfields. To be on the safe side, slightly undercook it (al dente) and don't reheat or cook it IN acidic sauces (add the sauce before serving.
