What's the word on this baking mix? It sounds good, but I'm leery.

I've tried it. It makes really good biscuits and pretty good pancakes, but I didn't like the pizza crust at all. Three times I had the pancakes and they didn't stall me (three pancakes approximately 4" in diameter with SF syrup) But having more that one biscuit with a meal seems to stall me every time. Oh, I used a little bit to make peanutbutter cookies once and they were good too.

I have some and I use it pretty infrequently. I like better than most bake mixes. Everything I've made comes out pretty dry so I think I need to tweak with the recipes a little more. No stalls for me.

I love it for the Impossible Pie recipes that you find for Bisquick. I wouldn't want to be without it again. Also a cream cheese pound cake that DH loves.

It is very good. I've made a chicken pie with it and pancakes.

Is carb quick like pancake mix? Do you buy it at the supermarket?

It's really good to coat zucchini for fried zucchini appetizers too. I put it in a bowl with parmesan cheese & cajun seasoning and batter the zucchini with it and an egg/cream mix. AWESOME stuff with ranch dressing!

There are several threads on Carbquik (not Carbquick) which cover alot of information already.

Carbquik is a bake mix with added baking powder, salt and oil - very similar to Bisquick. www.carbalose.com has great recipes and folks will improvise regular Bisquick recipes for Carbquik.

It is my personal favourite product - and does require alot of work...to cook, bake, etc. rather than some of the more instant LC products...but worth it.

Good Luck

I really like carb-quik - good for lc scones! :yum: I have found it to be a little salty tho - so usually use unsalted butter or some other unsalted fat source when cooking/baking with it. I think some buy it at Krogers grocery store - I get it at www.netrition.com.

Here's a thread on the site with a lot of good recipes:

This is the one LC product I am most impressed with - it adds some variety to a more limited diet such as LC.....I almost find it tastes slightly almond-y and it is a bit drier, but it's good stuff.
