I strength train about 2 to 3x a week. I'm finding lately that when I'm really pushing myself I have this feeling like I'm going to vomit. Any ideas why?
I train to failure, but I am always careful about form and time intervals etc. I am not doing the exercises incorrectly.
About the only thing I can think of that I'm doing wrong is not eating enough before my workouts. Sometimes it will have been 2.5 hours since my last snack or 4 hours since my last meal. Could this be it? :help:

Pink, it's possible your meal timing has something to do with it. General recommendation is to eat some lean protein (egg whites, cottage cheese, protein powder) about an hour prior, and then some more during the hour after you finish your exercise.
Also could be dehydration, heat, humidity, etc. If all these are ideal, and you still feel pukey, you might want to doublecheck wih your doctor that everything's ok.....blood pressure, etc.
I bet it's food/water related, though, :)

Thanks for the tip Dane! I will try eating something closer to my workout time.
If that doesn't work I'll ask my doc, since I have to see him for my yearly visit anyway.
thanks!

It's probably lactic acid that's giving your the pukey feeling. This is one of the side effects of training to failure. You can try eating something closer to your training, but it will likely make it worse, especially if it is high protein based. General rule of thumb is about 3 hours prior. You will eventually get to where you can tolerate the lactic acid, if not Aspirin before training may help some.
