My wife keeps getting morning sickness. Worse since she has been on Atkins (For 3 weeks). Anyone any ideas what could be causing ?
A friend of mine did say that it was because she was waking up next to me, but she assures me its not :)
And before anyone says it - No, she is not pregnant. ;)

It could be a number of things.....fibromyalgia? Stomach ulcer? Stress? IBS? Food intolerance? Birth control or any medication? If it has been worse since she started Atkins, there could be something she is eating that is aggravating it, but kind of hard to pin it down if you don't know the original source.
Probably best to have her checked out by the doc.

Also could be as simple as a drop in her blood sugar. I know I can not drink water in the morning before I eat anything, because it really upsets my stomach. How long is the time spand since see last ate something?

I'm the same way...i go through phases where i'm fine, then it starts up again. I dont actually throw-up....but i'm pretty damn close. I'm not sure what it is. But the suggestion about bloodsugar is a good idea. And once i eat i'm usually fine....although i gag...lol....and have to force myself to eat...which pretty much supports the fact that its probably my blood sugar.

Maybe she could keep a bag of nuts (oh, don't go there!) beside her or maybe some beef jerky (stop it, already)....

Seriously - when I was pregnant I would keep crackers on my bedside table to nibble on if I didn't feel well when I got up :) Nuts or jerky could be the lc equivalent of crackers for her.

Is she taking a vitamine in the morning or last thing at night?? If so, this could be causing her to be nauseous. Get her to eat something simple in the mornings and hopefully it'll go away again.
