In your first week?

I swear, I can already see a small difference in belly #1 the one at the top..LOL just under the breast line. This is where I lost the most fat last time. or at least was the most noticable.

Anybody have a link to the how to measure yourself for dummies thread or site?

Of course! and good for you for focusing in on this so quickly. We had a thread on measurements not long ago--and I'm sure there are more. Here's a few thoughts: run a search on this forum (the `search this thread' link is on the upper right in the format I use) for measurements; go to an on-line clothing store (esp. for larger people) and follow their instructions for measurements. Here's the at-home version: if you don't have a tape measure, or you need more than one, take a piece of string and measure yourself with that, and then lay it up on a ruler or yardstick.

My P.L.A.N. has a section for recording those measurements, and I recommend that you measure early in this process and keep a record. I didn't do this because a) I was afraid I wouldn't make it and b) it would be another piece of information about myself that I didn't want to know, and c) a record of my failure. To which I can say only durn. Wish I had. I estimate that I've lost about 17 inches around my hips, but I"m not willing to go back and find out =~o

Another great use for measurements is that you'll sometimes find during the stretches where nothing changes on the scale, you'll see a drop on the tape measure.

One more suggestion is that you get some `reference' garment--a pair of jeans works well for many of us. Try these on as a measure of progress (my favorite reference garment is an airplane, but I'd suggest something you can keep in your closet.)

True story about reference jeans, happened back in March or April or so. I pulled out a pair of size 18W jeans that hadn't fit in a few years, after losing about 20-25 pounds. Thought I'd see how far up my thighs they would come. Imagine my delight when they came past the knees, over the thighs, over the hips, and to the waist, a mere 4" or so from buttoning. About five days later, with no weight loss showing on the scale, I decided to try them on again--and they buttoned! Okay, they were so tight I couldn't walk in them, but still. (Same pants are loose on me now--not unwearable, but it won't be long.) Lesson? Measure as often as you want--measure early--measure often.

Now, somewhere around here is a link to women's clothing resources that will have more on measurements. I'll poke around and bump the thread.

And o yeah, congrats on the great start--it's helps to get a strong start. All you have to do to get to your goal is to keep on keeping on. It's so cool that it's really just that simple.

Thank you so much!

I will poke around and definately watch for any goodies you may find.

As long as I am losing something, I am good! :)

I went to this site. It shows a picture of exactly where to measure. It also measures body fat. I do it once a week and then do a comparison.

I love this as a companion to this site.
