hey everyone! this is a friend of meatball35s, shes letting me use her name just this once. i was wondering approximately how much time it would take me to lose about 22 pounds if i went on the south beach diet. i am pretty short, a little over 5'2, but i am almost 20 years old. im not very overweight, just a little chunky, so i was just seeing if any of you could give me a guesstimation based on maybe some of your experiences. it would be very appreciated!

Hey Friend, I am guessing it would take you a good few months. The closer you are to your goal weight the harder it gets to lose it. But let me tell you. This is not to be considered as a diet, yet more as a way of life or way of eating. If you eat this way until you are at your goal weight and then turn around and eat all the foods you used to before South Beach, you will clearly gain it all back. So I would say plan on at least 3-6 months. You might get lucky and it will take you less time, but from what I heard, this would be the average time to lose the weight when you are so close to goal.
Good luck
