This may not have anything to do with LC or diabetes, but maybe it does. I am wondering if anyone else has heard of or experienced it.

You know the feeling of when your foot goes to sleep? That's it except in my hands. This occurs in all kinds of positions, but mostly when they are still (not moving). But it doesn't occur all the time. I was awaken the other night from a dead sleep with peircing pain in my middle 3 fingers and the rest of the hand was completely numb. I thought I may have slept on it or something. I can hold a book to read and it happens. My blood pressure is fine. Blood sugar is under control. Last EKG was normal. I'm baffled! Please help!

My first suggestion would be to see a doctor. What you're describing could be several things; anything from a pinched nerve to carpal tunnel syndrome to neuropathy from chronic high blood sugars. A doctor would be able to examine you and perform any necessary tests to sort out what it really is and then give you suggestions for the best way to treat it. :)

I had that happen severely last winter. My hands were not only numb, but tingly and painful to the point that I couldn't sleep. Part of it was neuropathy from the diabetes, and part was tense muscles in my forearms and hands from a recent driving trip. I've had it happen since, but not as severe since I started stretching my hands and arms.

Sounds like a pinched nerve.......it also sounds exactly like what happened to me a number of years ago. I didn't have it diagnosed for years, but I noticed that when I took a B-100 tablet every day for awhile it eased up considerably....I was taking the B vitamins for something else, and didn't relate the absence of the sensations until I tested for a trial study at the local university on the effect of exercise on fluid retention....the tests I took before beginning the study revealed definite nerve pinching in both wrists...a sign of carpal tunnel syndrome, which I apparently have had for a long time even though the symptoms were not as acute....and when I explained that I was taking the B vitamins, they said B-6 in particular has an effect on alleviating symptoms. (btw I was one of only three people in the test to complete the program...and my ability to finish was attributed directly to the B vitamins..)

I would say...start with a good B-100 tablet or capsule (it is IMPORTANT to get GOOD ones....you'd be surprised how a little excess moisture can ruin them) and take one daily for 3-4 weeks and see if you can tell a difference.
