When presented with that question most of us (I hope) would automatically say that we are losing the weight for ourselves! But is there anyone else you want to lose this weight for?
Personally, I come first! I'm doing this to make me happy. But there are 2 other people I'm trying to lose this weight for. One is my boyfriend, we have been together for 2 years and I love him very much. He always tells me I am beautiful, and I know he is speaking honestly, but I want him to think I am HOT!! The other person is my mom. I've been overweight ever since junior high and I know it would make her happy and proud to see me slimmer and healthier.

I want to lose weight for myself because I hate looking this way. Other than that I want to lose if for my fiance' I know he loves me no matter what but I feel like you I wanna WOW him. I also don't want to be the fat mom at my son's school I am afraid this will cause him to be embarassed.

This journey was mostly for me. I wanted to look and feel better.
Ok, looking "hot" was on my list too. My SO :rheart:has seen me heavy and thin and could never keep his hands off me regardless of my weight. It's great to be able to wear the things I want to now though.

Mostly for me, to improve health and to be able to do more things. But also for my man. We like to travel and it's darned inconvenient at this size.
I know my extended family will be delighted for me, but they aren't a driving motivation.

The first reason is my health. I want to have grand children some day, so I don't want any sudden seizure to stop this.
Then it is my boyfriend. He has accepted me as fat but I know he would prefer me thin.
Finally some of our friends who didn't knew I was on meds and said I didn't have the strength to do it. I have already started seen their envy. ;)

I can't rank them easily but I'm losing weight for myself, and for my future kids, and for my husband so I don't leave him any sooner than I have to. :) Pretty standard answer!

Myself, and someday when I get pregnant, my baby. I want to be as healthy as possible before we try to conceive.

I've tried for so long to just eat normal and I can't!!
This is the only thing that works for me!

First of all. ME. I want to fel confident and sexy and not feel insignificant to other people all the time! I also want to get into modeling (artistic.. fun modeling. Never fashion let's be 98'lbs modeling!).. so I need to be a biiit thinner and toned for that.. plus I need the confidence!
Second.. is yes, my boyfriend. I don't want to feel insecure around him.. even though he always tells me that I am beautiful and I know he means it. I just have this weird idea in my head that since his ex was thin.. I need to get as thin too. And plus.. I dont want to feel all uncomfortable while we're intimate.
But really
ME ME ME!!!

ME!
Sounds selfish huh, but as a mum of 3 Ive always put my family first and never really had time for myself, so therefore always ate quick food, and not taking the time to excersise.
So now my kids are older, I choose the next yr to be mine.
The second people Im doing it for is, my children, I want them to have their mum at the weddings/graduation, children etc.
And lastly my poor husband, who has NEVER complained about my weight and always calls me beautiful.
I want to give myself to him, and be worthy of him.
HUGS

95% me. But I'd be lying if I tried to deny the other 5% that pops up every now and then: spite toward certain family members whose genes I want to deny sharing, the what-if-I-run-into-an-ex-boyfriend factor...

I am losing it largely for me, so I can look and feel better. But there are definite advantages for DH, since I will have more energy and be able to go hiking and do other activities with him (he is very active so it is nice to be able to keep up with him).

I want to loose weight for myself and my children. I want to be around to see them grow up and I want to have more energy to participate in more activites with them. I love walking to the park and having my 2 year old on my lap in the swing, that my butt now fits in.
I love playing tag and not being out of breath after running only 2 feet.
I LOVE BEING A FUN MOM!!!!!!!
(ok I got a bit off track :-)

I'm doing it mainly for myself, since I'd like to go into the military and to do that I need to get my weight down.

I am doing it for me, so that I have a better chance at good health, hopefully my back injury will ease up along with the aches and pain from CFS. I want to have my self confidence back and feel attractive and sexy.
I am also doing this for my kids. It hurts my back and hip so bad to sit and play with them on the floor. They can't climb on me like normal moms, because I am sore everywhere. I want to be as normal with them as possible. It's toss up here sometimes, do I clean the apartment or play with the kids (at the playground or roughhouse with them). I can't do both on the same day. I don't get so tired, it's more the pain factor afterwards and the next day.
Then I want to lose for my SO. He loves me no matter what. He still tells me I am pretty and sexy. He's so funny, he almost gets depressed when the tahtahs start to get smaller and I have plenty to spare. lol I was thinner when we hooked up, but still overweight. I would love to be able to slow dance with him really, really close. Someday it's gonna happen.
I haven't lost so much so far, but I am feeling a little better.

I lost weight because of a real and deep fear of getting diabetes (yes, I know thin people can get it). Both my parents becase diabetic because of obesity. After the birth of child, I just chugged along in the 145lbs range. Then my husband (also overweight) was diagnosed with diabetes, That drove it home.

Mostly for me, because I wasn't happy with the way I looked. I want to be able to go out and not be self-conscious. I'm sure other people will like it too! I know I'm sort of motivating my family by doing this.

Definatley alot of this is for me. Even this first 12 pounds I have lost has started to make me feel more confident and have greater belief in myself. I love feeling healthy and fit from all this exercise, vegetables and water. Isn't it odd that so may people consider this an unhealthy diet??. I've never eaten so much salad and veg in my life!!!
My lurvly man has been such a support -in this and many other things. I kinda feel I'd like to give this to him as a thankyou!! Iknow he wouldnt care if I stayed this weight for ever- but I agree with all you ladies- I don't want him to just think I'm beautiful--I want him to find me irresistable!!!
Also I have the most beautiful mixed race baby daughter. I remember how proud I was of my own gorgeous mother and I want my Poppy to think the same about me when the time comes for her to go to school. I'd like us to be the 2 stunning ladies in my partners life !!

My health, and my happiness of course.
But also for my future...I am only 15 year old, and I am a Freshman in high school. I don't want to be fat. I want to be skinny, I want a girlfriend (not that just likes me for my wieght of course, I have had girlfriends before), and when I am a senior in High School and when I go to College, I dont want to be some fat slob who stays home all day. I want to be thin, and active, and go to partys :)

for me, I don't want to die at an early age, you just don't see any old people who are obese.

I am doing it for me, myself, and I. :)
I want to feel young and thriving again. Not like I'm just surviving, but not really living life.
As a result of my success my daughter will have a healthy role model and my mother will be thrilled. My SO, who thinks I'm sexy and can't keep his hands off me no matter what, will no doubt, benefit too. But these are all "side jobs." My priority is me, my health/fitness and my happiness. :agree:

Now that is a reason!!! Everyone on all the new boards should see this...I am worried sick over a sister that is very obese.

The kid factor is huge! I fear that I will be the oldest mom at his school, I don't need to be the fattest too. Although right now, (he's only ONE) I think he likes that I am squishy.;)

I've been on my journey for me. It's the first "selfish" thing I've done in 15 years of marriage that wasn't about my husband or our children. It's about me. One of my motivaters was this little tickle in my brain where I thought that my husband probably looks at me and thinks...this is the mother of my children....and doesn't think.....this is my wife. The difference between those two sayings speak mountains to my brain....I want to be loved for "me" not for my accomplishments. I could just as easily fail rather than succeed. The whole time I've been working out, I've been visualizing me in this itty bitty black dress and swore that I'd wear it...not that I sausage stuff myself into it....that I'd be WEARING that dress. It's all about me....what drives you to care for yourself is as individual as we each are.

I am doing this for me. I have been eating my way through a bad marriage for the past 28 years. I am seperated now for three years and loving it. It is time for me to get healthy and not having the stress of my other life I think I can finally do it. I find it interesting though that it does really scare me at times. I suppose there is some underlying thing going on there too. Life, it's so interesting isn't it. :)

Like everyone else I am losing for ME first, so I can feel self-confident and look good both in clothes and naked. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't trying to look hot for my hubby. He loves me no matter what size I am but I know he'd love me to be thinner. And if I feel good about my weight then I less self-conscious during our *intimate* times...

Firstly, ME! I want to feel as good and look as good as I did a couple of years ago. Secondly for my OH, who has recently commented on my flabby back and arms (grr! but he is right!) and like ssofian, I want to be able to participate in his more active pursuits with some credibility. Also for my daughter. I don't want her to have a fat mummy!

Me, myself and I. Then my husband come next, not that he is not happy were I am at. But, I do want to make him drool. And then comes my grandbabies, want to see them grow up and want to be ACTIVILY involved in there lives.
