Hi Bez

As we were discussing on Saturday afternoon, I've worked out the carb count of Oxo cubes. The box states 38.4g of carbs per 100g. A box of 12 cubes is 71g, so if my maths is correct 1 cube is 2.27g. Hope this helps.

Keep smiling :daze:

Ken.

What do you know - you are right Ken. :D I had to check your maths 'cos I worked it out and I believed it was much higher than 2.27 ... which is why I have steered clear of OXO. Obviously my maths is not as good as yours but then I was doing it mentally in the shop!! - well that's my excuse anyway

Take care.

Hi Brenda
An Oxo cube is a stock cube (available in beef or chicken flavours).

They're much better than chocolate especially when you haven't had one for a while. and when you know that you can add to stew's and mince it makes it taste a whole lot better.

Thanks Ken and I'm going to have your shepherds pie this week?!!..say Hello to Margaret for me  Lovely to meet you both, it was a great afternoon.

Sorry I hadn't posted earlier, as you all know, I had a busy day yesterday too and I haven't had a chance to get onto the forum until now.

I bought oxo soup in a mug powder and had a mug last night. It lists corn syrup solids as the first ingredient. Would that have sugar in it? It doesn't list sugar. I got the reduced sodium beef kind instead of chicken because the chicken had sugar listed in the ingredients (though low down in the list).

Hi Jason

I don't think I've found the cup of soup OXO in the UK. However you might want to check out this link on the Unilver (http://www.unilever.ca/products/index.asp?navLev=5&NavId=101&PCateId=3&type=1) website who own the OXO trade mark. This is probably what you bought.

Does the ingredients below tally with what you brought? Then each teaspoon is 2.5 carbs.

Thanks alot Anne. :) I tried searching for oxo on google but couldn't find it. Oxo is sure an easy way to make a mug of soup, but it has more carbs than a can of cambells condensed broth. Oh well, I'll use it on days that I'm in a hurry and have extra rooms for carbs.

Thanks chaps! I've just read this thread and had to rush into the kitchen to make myself a mug of oxo!!!

I also did the maths. I have some sensoitive scales so I witghed ten (with silver paper on ) and it came to 67g. As they are 38 per cent carbs about 2.2 per cube seems to be about right.

Well, I'm going to enjoy it now - and sod the carbs!

I had a mug for lunch today. I have a cold, so soup is good. :)
