So I went to my endo yesterday and she is putting me back on .25mcg of Synthroid. I'm anxious as all heck to start taking it again because I have been doing so good with the weight loss, I don't want any kind of meds to mess it up! My TSH was elevated, 6.5 I think. But T3 and T4 were normal. 3 weeks ago when I had the same exact blood tests everything was normal. What could be causing this? I'm wondering what would happen if I just didn't take the Synthroid... :help:

Synthyroid shouldn't hurt your weight loss, if it does anything, it might even help it. T3 & T4 are meaningless. You should look at FT3 and FT4.

dpionk, have you ever had your antibodies checked? Often they will be high and present before you start seeing big changes in thyroid hormones.
Then again, 'normal' is something that stinks when it comes to thyroid. What exactly were your test results and what were the 'normal' ranges?

I don't think I have ever had my antibodies checked. I have been on Synthroid for about two weeks now and honestly it seems to be helping. My tsh was elevated I think 4.65 or something and the high end of "normal" was 4.5 i want to say, but I can't remember. It's def not stalling me, which is what I was worried about so I'm good. I am having all my lipds and Thyroid levels rechecked end of Novemeber.

Stalling you? Heck no. W/o adequate thyroid hormones you cannot lose weight. Period. Heck, you can't be alive w/o them.
However, don't let this doctor test only your TSH - it's not enough, especially when you've been on exogenous hormones. You need your actual thyroid hormones (FT4 and FT3) tested.
