Who subtracts sugar alcohols from their total carbs in their foods? I've heard different opinions. Do they subtract for the net carbs?

definitely not. Even eating a "normal" diet that includes over 200 carbs a day, i will gain if i eat too many sugar alcohols. There is something very fishy about those things.

When (and I do have them VERY infrequently) I actuallly ADD the SA's to my carb count.

I usually eat some solano sweets. I don't count the sugar alcohols there but I try not to overdo it. I'm far away from 20 carbs (5/day) so they don't harm me at this point.

it's their effect on my digestive system. I walk past the ice cream aisle and repeat... gas.. bloat... other symptoms I'm not going to admit to in a public forum...
YMMV. I have found the symptoms get worse with time. First few servings, I'm Ok, but then if I buy another box /carton / whatever, I'll get flattened.
