I went to see my doctor last week, mainly because I've struggled to lose weight over the last couple of years and, despite the fact that I follow a healthy low carb woe and exercise regularly, I feel constantly tired and 'under the weather'.

We discussed the fact that the problem could perhaps be the peri-menopause, and that the solution could be to take HRT.

She then sent me off for the following blood tests:
UE
LFT
CA
GS
TFT1
FBC
FSH
LH
and androsteredione

I had to phone for my results today and was told that I needed to make an appointment to see my doctor because my thyroid is 'borderline' - whatever that means. Unfortunately, they wouldn't explain further over the telephone.

So, what I'm trying to find out here is what that might actually mean and if there are any particular questions etc., that I need to ask my doctor when I see her. Having had no idea that my thyroid might be causing a problem, I'm not really sure how to proceed, so any help/advice would be really welcome.

Get the test results and post 'em, along with the ranges. The FAQ has information about the various tests and what they mean.

Low carb diets might make thyroid issues worse. Try eating more than 50-100g of carbs see if anything changes.
