Would be interested to hear what others think of using a rebounder or a trampoline for a cardio workout.

Is one better than the other, for example ???

We have a trampoline at home, and I've been thinking about using it for my cardio workouts, hence the question - but also wondered if a rebounder might be better.

I don't know if you've seen this thread: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=196804 I have been using mine a good bit since then. I enjoy doing it-- so I'll keep doing it. My kids use to have a trampoline and I really had fun with it too. Rebounder is all I have now-- you don't have to worry about what the weather is like in order to do rebounder. :)

One only needs to jump on a trampoline for a few minutes to realize the amount of aerobic work taking place. I think both can be used to burn some calories.

The rebounder is probably more flexible and holding some additional weight in your hands or on your body could be done easily enough.

Thanks for the input :)

I think that I'll take advantage of the summer weather and work out on the trampoline and then buy a rebounder to use during Fall/Winter

Hi Demi....I've been dieting for 2 months and started with a daily 30 minute cardio on my trampoline. It was great and got my heart pumping. One of my main reasons for working out on the trampoline was that it was a weight bearing piece of equipment. At 251 lbs...I wasn't quite reading to do jumping jacks on the floor. I've lost 42 lbs in 2 mos, and of course it's because of lowcarbing as well as exercising. Lately, I've changed my routine to include walking and am doing my cardio 3 times a week on the floor. The trampoline is only for ppl to a max of 200 lbs, so at 251, I was pushing it. About 2 weeks ago, when I was doing my work out...one of the springs snapped....so I've stopped doing the jumping jacks on it....I still do my fast walking on it though....or high stepping...w/e. Good luck andI'd go for it!!
