Hi I've been working very hard in getting my sugar down, I was 160 but now I'm 133, but I have a problem, when my sugar is near 110-90 I start feeling shaky and, I know this sounds funny, I keep forgetting Nouns. I forget names of things, more like I can't get them from their storage area in my head
My sugar isn't below 70 so what is it? I'm not dropping a 100 points so its not hypoglacimic reaction.. is it?

Kassie, your body can get used to higher blood sugar readings and you may feel slightly hypo at normal readings when you've been previously running higher. It will get better as your body readjusts to more normal readings again. :)
Having said that, continue to check when you feel like you're hypo just to make sure that you aren't.

Here is my theory. What might be normal for most people may not be normal for you. Maybe you need to have your sugar slightly higher than what is considered normal. Another theory. After years of a high consumption of carbohydrates makes it very difficult for the body to become fully accustomed to such a drastic change without the luxury of time. How is your cholesterol levels? If your glucose/insulin are at healthy levels it seems to me that your cholesterol should follow in a like-pattern.
Let's see what your thyroid tests are.

The symptoms I mentions are my typical symptoms for Hypoglacimic reactions I used to get before low carbing, its happened when my sugar dropped a significantly. like 100.
(I was taught that if you have a learning disability, it affects it, like me)

Kassie... yet another classic hypothyroid symptom as well. You'll hear folks talk about brainfog. When I was at my worst, I would look at the car and call it TV. I would looke at my computer and call it train. Things I KNEW were hard to recall or basically impossible. For a couple months I sounded like my brain was scrambled. Those symptoms were gone within 1 week of being on Armour Thyroid meds.
When are you getting new thyroid labs?

Hang in there, Kassie, and it will get better. I had the same thing happen that Lisa described as I got my blood sugar under control. When it changes dramatically you very well can feel this way. I think Bernstein talks about this in the book. He doesn't set a goal immediately of 85 for people who have very high blood sugar for just this problem - because they will feel hypoglycemic even when their glucose is not too low. He steps folks like that down a bit at a time.
It took me about 2-3 months to get it under control. I suggest frequent monitoring especially if you're on meds because you may find that it drops lower and you'll have to cut back your meds or go too low.
It is unpleasant, isn't it?

There was a 1980s version of the Twilight Zone tv show where a teacher was getting words mixed up like this. As the day progressed his conditioned not only worsened, he had no idea what people were saying.Wow.

I should ask my doctor about this when I see him next. WHen I posted earlier I had just seen him 2 hours before. I took my BG it was 100 and I was foggy shakey and unable to form a coherent thought it seemed. I had my thyroid checked a month ago that's fine. I have had these symptoms before and always thought it was a bit of low sugar but since I got my machine when I check it I can be fine at 93 but feel wierd at 100??? I honestly , when I think about beleive I have these when my sinuses get REAL BAD. Makes my head a mess. Do you have any sinus or allergy problems acting up? I have no idea but maybe it's somthing like that too.

I was shaky today. I had considerably fewer carbs than usual. I finally took a multi, potassium and chromium and I felt much better. I don't know which supp worked but I am wagering on the chromuim.

I will admit that It gets easier and better the more I experience the low blood sugar (ok low for me 100-110)
I was below 100 for 8 hours yesterday and only felt tired (Which could have been my thyroid)
As for my next thyroid test it depends after I see my primary doctor on the 14th of June :)

When you had your throid checked did you also check for floride levels? Floride is a throid inhibeter. Even if it is not put in your drinking water, it can be hiding in food that is processed where they put floride in the water. Plus in toothpaste and tea. Your throid can test as fine but if floride is stored in body your body will not use the throid hormone effectivly. I've been on throid for 10+ years and I just found out about this problem.
