I don't know why I have been getting heartburn. First time I did Atkins I didn't get it but it made it go away & this time around I haven't been able to get rid of it. Anyone eles have this problem? What help you if you did? Sometimes I feel like I'm actually going to throw up. I don't have a gall bladder but I'm thinking it has nothing to do with that cause I had it removed about 5 years ago. Why would it just start acting up?

Hearburn is the main reason I can get below 50-60 g of carbs, never could do atkins induction. Protein/fat meal takes longer to digest and require more acid. While the food sits in the stomach longer, LES remains opened. Butter and everything fried are the worst. Since you have your gall bladder removed, you may having problems digesting fat. Heartburn is simply a sign of indigestion. If it does not go away with the fat reduction, consult your Dr.

Pantoloc is another name for Protonix, PPI drugs. It works by inhibiting acid secretion. These type of drug if taken prolonged period of time can permanently shut down acid pumps. They should not be taken for more than 8 weeks, only as a temporary measure to heal peptic ulcers or such. It also has nasty side effects. DGL Licorice works much better.

I'll be going back to the DR soon because I have to go in for a psysical & TB test so I can renew my Esthetician license. I'll mention it then. But I wish that I could get relief sooner.
