2 onions sliced thin
2 T butter
3 T of olive oil
2 cloves of freshly pressed garlic.
2 oz of smoked ham
2 oz of havarti cheese, sliced
dill pickles
gouldens brown mustard or dijon
low carb whole wheat bread
2T butter softened
In frying pan, melt butter, add olive oil, and garlic. get it sizzling on med high heat. Add sliced onions and cook for a good 20 minutes tossing, looking for brown and carmelizing affect of onions. pull off fire. set aside.
Take another clean frying pan and heat up to med high.
Take your bread and build a sandwich with the ham, cheese, pickles, mustard, and carmelized onions. Smear 1T of butter to each out side of bread.
put your sandwich in the frying pan and grill on both sides, pressing down with spatula. When brown and golden, take off heat, put on plate and serve.
