My mom used to make these for us as kids, tho' used sugar. Just take some naners and cut them length wise then again in 1/2. Melt some butter in pan and lay naners w/ a generous sqeeze of SF syrup. Fry them slowly until the syrup carmalizes and the naners are still managable. (cooked to long they fall apart, not cooked long enough and they aren't as sweet.) You can add some cinnamon before you put the syrup on too! Add some whipped heavy cream and could be a little dessert! ***** Please read Rosebuds post to this any newbies! I didn't realize bananas were so HIGH in carbs! Sorry for the bad info>

This sounds good, but I will have to wait until maintenance for this one, what with one medium banana having 28 carbs, with only 3g fibre.

Plantains are much worse.

Fitday (http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/FoodFacts.asp?FoodID=71905000&OwnerID=100) gives one medium plantain 57 carbs, with 4g fibre.

The safest fruits to consume are (as Dr Atkins says) berries and melons. If in doubt, check the carb counts either on Fitday, MyPLAN or our carb counter (under Tools on the green menu bar at the top of the screen). :)

I remember eating this too, it was so good. Only we would mix in coconut milk. Good memories...good times.

Yeah...bananas are probably the highest carb fruit there is. Other than that, though, they are very healthy. However, with those carb counts, they aren't for us. Maybe occasionally in maintenance as a super treat.

Why aren't most monkeys fat? Hmmmmmm.
