Hello all,
I am in a stall. Have been for about 2-3 weeks. I made this goal that by my b'day (May 22nd) I would have lost 50 pounds. I need to loose about 8 pounds in less than 2 weeks to make that goal. Can anyone look at my stats and maybe give me some pointers.... I was also wondering if I need to wait 2 hours after eating to exercise or can I do it sooner like 1 hour??
I exercise Monday-Saturday 30 minutes on treadmill, and I get in the floor and do pushups, situps, etc... SHOULD I INCREASE???
Breakfast:
Blt (on double the fiber bread) 220 calories 12 carbs
Lunch:
South Beach pizza 280 calories 20 carbs
sugar free jello 10 calories 0 carbs
Dinner:
Hamburger patty 500 calories 0 carbs
slice of cheese 50 calories 2 carbs
one carb ketchup and mustard 20 calories 1 carb
handful of porkrinds 120 calories 0 carbs
Any insight would be appreciated. Any exercise tips welcome, I really want to reach my goal. Thanks all!!!!!!!!

Stalls happen to almost everyone. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If this is a typical menu for you, you might be overdoing it on the salt, which can be a problem with water retention. Are you losing inches?
If you were on Atkins, I might say something about eating more veggies, but since you are using something else, I will fill my mouth with salad and shut up.
You can exercise after eating, just stop if you get uncomfortable or start cramping. It's not like you will drown on the treadmill.

Thanks for the help, I am seriously thinking of doing the meat and egg fast for a while and see if that would help me get over this hump. :yay:
I guess I am being a little hard on myself because since Feb. I dropped weight so fast, and now nothing, and I have not reached my goal. My goal for 50 pounds in 3 months may have been overkill and unrealistic but I don't want to give up just yet I may make 240 in 11 days!!!!!
Thanks!!!!

since you lost a large chunk so quickly your body may be adjusting, also like vikki said, your getting very little fiber, and lots of sodium. Also your eating lots of proccessed stuff again lots of sodium & fillers. Maybe the meat egg fast or just plain ol induction for a few days...
I have used hte gg meat fast to break stalls in the past and I find it quite helpful, however just beaware that its meant only to be used 3-5 days once every 30 days. Dont get caught up in the rut.
Good Luck & Happy B-day!

I think that you are too low on calories for someone who is exercising 6 days a week. You are only taking in 1200 calories and your body's requirements are significantly more than that. By going too low on calories, your body will slow its metabolism down to compensate. Try adding a handful of nuts as a snack between breakfast and lunch and another between lunch and supper.
Two weeks without a loss is not really a stall. A lot of times, it is just water retention in the fat cells to replace lost fat. The cells will eventually release the water and the weight and inches will fall (what some people call a whoosh), but in the meantime it appears that you are not losing fat, even though you are.
Hang in there and you will reach your goal, although it may be a few weeks late!

I agree with Dodger. Eat more! I would suggest logging your foods AND exercise to really see how many calories you are burning. You and I are at the same height and I lose weight on 1600-1700 calories. 1200 is probably too low for you. Ideally you want to eat 500-1000 calories less than you use.
Also, you didn't indicate how much water you drink. When you exercise a lot, you need to drink extra. I don't measure my water intake anymore, but I drink it constantly throughout the day. My barometer of whether I'm drinking enough is whether or not the skin on my elbows is soft.
Good luck!

Wow thanks for all the advice,
Taming- I have lost inches, all over 53 inches, 13 inches in my belly, I went from a 26 jeans to a 22. I will lower my sodium intake, Thanks.
Holly- Your right on the money, the meat and egg fast is probably my best bet. What can it hurt??
Dodger and diemde- About calories I will keep that in mind, some days I do eat more calories believe me. I also drink about 144 oz. water a day, 12 pack of 12 oz. Dasani. Thanks for the tip about dry elbows, I would have never thought of that.
It's great to have found this forum!!! Keep the advice coming I am all ears. :D
