I stopped taking birth control about 4 months ago because of breakthrough bleeding and i haven't got my period since then, but the bigger problem is that every time i try to have an active love life i am in extreme pain. It feels like there is a barrier in there, i bleed every time now and there is no pleasure. Has anyone experienced this problem??? What should i do??????
Please Help Me. Thanks.

Hi Beck!

Painful intercourse accompanied by bleeding is something that needs to be checked out by a Gynecologist http://my.webmd.com/hw/health_guide_atoz/sig59258.asp
I would suggest that you schedule an appointment with your Gyn as soon as you can.
Hope you get it all sorted out soon! :)

Lisa is right -- get to your gyne a.s.a.p. The symptoms you're describing are exactly what my mom went through with endometriosis. Please keep us posted.

Sounds like something similar to what I experienced - the gyn called it a "friable cervix" - in other words it was irritated. Because of my history of other problems (bad paps, heavy unpredictable TOM, early peri-menopause), I opted for a hysterectomy. There are other treatments for a friable cervix that are less invasive - didn't mean to scare you!!!!

Time for a visit to the doctor!

best of luck, Julie

As you can get from reading the list, there are a lot of possible physical causes for painful intercourse.

The answer is a visit to the doctor.

If you don't feel comfortable talking to your doctor, then the answer to that is a new doctor.

You might even feel more comfortable with a woman doctor, but I agree with the others, this is a problem that should be addressed by a medical practionner.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post everyone. I scheduled a Doctors/Gyno appointment for Thursday, I hope nothing is seriously wrong. I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck
