Hi there! In the past week or so, I've started to notice spots on my abdomen and breasts. They are small (a bit larger than a pencil eraser) and round, somewhat flaky. I don't have any allergies as far as I know, but I did begin taking vitamins and eating strawberries around the same time these spots started to show up. The last time I took one-a-day vitamin I threw up and had to quit taking them. Not pretty! Every day it seems I'm getting more spots. I also sweat a lot during cardio, but always take a shower afterwards. I've surfed the web for answers, and have eliminated several things. No comminicable diseases, no psoriasis, no eczema, I can't find anything! No doctor for me anytime soon, my health insurance is now non existant. Does anyone have any idea what I may be dealing with? Thanks! :help:

Can I ask why not psoriasis? Strawberries sometimes flare up psoriaris, and the description you gave sounds just like it. Does it itch? Mine does not itch.

Hi! Thanks for responding! The reason I ruled out psoriasis is that none of the hundreds of pictures of the disease looked anything like mine. The only type of the five that look even remotely close is the guttate, and it wasn't close enough in my eyes to be a match. I've also read that the guttate is characterized by the eruption of multiple drop-like papules. I don't have any papules. My spots are not raised or scaly. No, no itching thankfully. I may be wrong, but I've explored psoriasis thoroughly, and don't think I have it. What do you think? Thanks a lot for your imput Amy. I appreciate it! Have a great night!

Update: Out of pure stingyness (is that a word?), I decided to eat the rest of my strawberries I had in the fridge. I didn't want to just throw them away!! I figured I'd finish them up and see if my spots got any better in a few days. I'd say they totalled 6 strawberries and about 4 TBL of puree. This is a lot more than I have been eating. I never eat more than a few at a time.
Now, I'm itching all over and can't stop! :help: Legs, back, arms, etc. I don't get this. I've never had a food allergy before. Does this even SOUND like a food allergy to anyone? I hope so, I'd sure like to get rid of the dang spots before they spread to God-knows-where!! I have benadryll (antihistamine) I believe in the cupboard. Will that do anything for a food allergy? I wish I married a doctor!! Grrr! :p Thanks!

As a child I used to have an alergic reaction to strawberries. My "spots" were like mosquito bites, VERY itchy and always followed a pattern: they started on the abdomen and then spread outwards towards legs and hands. By the time they reached the extremities, the ones on my tummy were healed. The amount of spread was proportional to the amount of strawberries... and I've always been a sucker for all berries.
Funny enough, in my very early twenties I stopped having this reaction. Allergies, as I understand it, come and go, perhaps there's an additional trigger besides the allergy causing food itself? Anyway, if I were you I'd wait for a week or so to heal and then try some strawberries again. You'll know if it's them or something else.

benadryll should at least help with the itching. I was taking a drug that I was allergic to and I got itchy hives, may not be the same as you have. But the doc gave me some allegra and told me to buy some benadryll or claritonD to help with the itching.

I have food allergies to tomato sauce, and I get the same thing. Truly, I don't think you have psorasis. Most likely a food allergy! Good Luck, it'll clear up in a day or two!
That means stay away from the strawberries! :)
