Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has advice on supplements, or specific vitamins they've found work great for them?
Thanks in Advance!, Teally

A good beginning would be a good "mega" multivitamin -- similar to Atkins Basic 3. I would also include a mix of Omega 3 fatty acids.
Chromium is a good choice.
Then I would probably recommend anti-oxidants: COQ10, green tea, many, many others
I can't remember if you are a woman or man. :help:
If you are a man and wanting to build muscle -- then I suggest zinc, magnesium, saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, and amino acids.
If you are a woman -- sorry I can't recommend women specific vitamins and nutrients.
Atkins recommended L-Methionine and Choline & Inositol to burn fat.
If you are over 40 years old and have felt "middle aged" then perhaps DHEA and pregnenolone.

I discovered Seven Seas Low Carb Lifestyle supplements and I love the fact that they have parsley and peppermint in them to freshen your breath from the inside. They really do work.

Supplements are sorta an individual thing. Some people recommend L-Glutamine for cravings and for use after weight training. Search the sites here for more on it. I have the powder, but I confess I don't take it regularly. I take a multivitamin one for LCers. I also take Alpha Lipoic Acid daily. It is supposed to help with blood sugar. I take Co-Q10, because I take crestor (Very controversial here) for my cholesterol. Fish oil capsule, fiber, garlic all for cholesterol. Lastly I take a magnesium supplement 'cause when I punched in my foods to fit-day or myPLAN I was chronically deficient on it. Good luck.

I agree that supplements need to be individualized. Personally I take: cod liver oil for the omega's, a good multi (read $$$), coQ10 and hawthorn for heart, l-glut sometimes before work-out. I went to a naturopathic dr. and those were suggested by her. I personally would ask someone knowlegable in nutrition/diet and have it personalized for what you are eating and your metabolic type, as well as any health issues you may have!
Good luck - Luan

yohimbe is a herb I think.
For supplements I do nothing but natural. Accept for vitamin b-12 is hard to get it when you have candida and your a vegan. Without candida I would most likely be ok.
For the others it's all herbs for me.
Alfalfa powder and sprouts have good levels of b-12 for a plant as well as qinoa. Alfalfa is also good for other things like very rich in enzymes that help to digest fats and proteins.
It's all in the diet though. If you eat to be healthy then you will be.
