I went to the mall today and both GNC and Vitamin World had very few Atkins products, they said they aren't getting much in because they are phasing out the low carb products. I was very disappointed. I guess its back to ordering online and paying for shipping. Also I orderd a box of Truffles from Netrition, I have one every other day or so for a treat. I received them on 4-13-05 and the expiration date is 4-22-05. I couldn't eat these all by 4-22, even if I wanted to. I wonder if I could send them back for another box. Has anyone else had this happen?

That is why the merchandise there is so low in price. They guarantee freshness for a year past the date. Everything I have ever bought there is expired. You were lucky to get something before the expiration date.

The Atkins products in the UK are in receivership and not longer going to be sold soon. It means the products are being bulk bought. I have found a good UK website for mail order products, which may be helpful.
I am not suprised the smear campaign against the Atkins has been vicious, the sugar industry must be scared of people eating less sugar.

Went to my fave HFS, which had both sides of 1 aisle filled with about 1000 LC products. Had not been in since Jan, but I stopped by this week, and they had one 4 foot wide shelf section with about 3 dozen LC products.

EEEK - has the end of the LC craze (as the media puts it) hit closer to home this time? We already had the one LC store close near our house. I will have to find a sub for our favorite LC flax pancake mix.

All I eat is the low carb dressings. I guess I better stock up but look at expiration dates.

The thing is that Atkins and others were pumping those products out like crazy and most of us avoid them like the plague! They came in handy for emergencies, but they didn't become part of our daily food plan. The need for them was not as high as the production.

Guess what... until a couple years ago there were hardly ANY of those products around. We got a long just fine without them then, and we will again. Heck...might even boost the weight lost numbers!

I don't even know what low-carb products are? I live in Mexico so they are pretty much non-existent (except for a few low carb dressings that are GROSS that just arrived at my super). Anyhow, I think that this has kept me from only falling off the wagon one time since I began in November! I think it may be a good thing!!

The Health food store by me said the same thing...they were phasing out the low carb products...said too many health food stores were going under now that there was no demand and they had invested in so much low carb stuff....just what the guy told me. I find in my area Albertson's and Walmart occasionally have something, but their aisles seem to be diminishing also in the products.

I know that a lot of people may not necessarily do Atkins, but they are still doing low carb....even entertainers like Oprah don't claim Atkins but admit she eats limited carbs, so I don't get it...

Anyway, the thing I buy the most often is the low carb tortilias, so if I can find those I can do most of the rest okay. I don't really buy the candies and bars and stuff.

The way gas prices are going, it will almost be cheaper to pay postage than to DRIVE somewhere and get it!

what bothers me is the vitamins. i order mine from vitacost because they're cheaper. but they're no longer carrying basic3 from atkin's. they carry the basic1 which is for maintenance but not the other which is for induction & owl. i found some at walmart but they're real slow at ordering. does any one know of a daily i can take 3 times a day that has the same ingredients????????

Here in Holland the Accel used to cost € 19.99 about 3 months ago. Yesterday I saw it for €4.99 so I bought a few for when I'm done with my second induction.

Cindy -- So true. Regardless of how tempting and tasty I find the LC products, I do so much better overall if I just pass them up -- darn it
