Hi, today is my 1st day on SB. I have been a fan of Adkins for a while, but read SB is a heathier way to go. I am a SUGAR ADDICT, love candy, any suggestions how to cope with these cravings? I am drinking much water. Thank you,
Chilover

Yes you can have fruit but after phase one. Try a little low fat protein. Sugar free jello is another option. Phase One is hard but well worth it. Other than that do something to occupy yourself and the craving will pass. To some degree it's all in our head and that's what we are trying to break.

Hi! Welcome to the Beach!!

Bigted is right as there is no fruit in phase I. I had alot of trouble with withdrawal symptoms when I did phase I. I did eat fruit to help with that but that meant that I wanted to stay in phase I until I could do 2 weeks perfect...no fruit at all!!

I ended up staying in phase I for 4 weeks total!! But it was worth it as I now have the experience of what phase I is supposed to be and I do drop back to that when I feel the need.

You can always have a salad with a piece of protein ( chicken breast or hard boiled egg) , a string cheese. I do recall it being difficult at first as my mind kept thinking about all the things that I could not have. I now work hard at thinking about all the things that I can have!! It helps so much to not allow my mind to dwell in what I no longer eat!!

You can check out my journal for ideas on things to eat. :agree:

Hope this helps!! :D
