Hey-
I used to use Atkins Accel...I was wondering what other people's experience was with it as a supplement. I find that my periods of weight loss coincided with the times that I took it , but I don't really have a theory of causation. I can't PROVE that Accel--> weight loss, or that weight loss was the result of just naturally breaking a plateau. I.e. each time that I took it, it was because I had gained something...and at the same time, I cut a lot of carbs...back to induction levels.

Love your avatar, Prof! I've never used Atkins Accel, but recently I've been using a product called Metab-Accelerator (generic CVS brand), as well as Chromium Piccolinate, Super-B Complex, and green tea extract in pill form, hoping to speed up my not-enough-exercise sluggish metabolism. Lost 3 lbs as of this morning, which is a real whoosh for me, but I have no idea whether any of these supplements were responsible. I'm definitely of the "couldn't hoit!" school of dietary tweaking.:p

Atkins Accel contains caffeine and since Dr. Atkins said to avoid caffeine, thats what I do. :agree:

I've used Accel twice. The first time i lost on it, real good. The second time I tried, I lost NOTHING! I think it all depends on how you eat while you are taking it. I think if you are REALLY good, then maybe it does help somewhat. I know I won't try it again though since nothing happened during my second try. The little bit of extra energy that goes with it is nice though!

I think the caffeine is just like the amount of caffeine in green tea or decaf coffee. If you don't get a buzz off it it shouldn't be messing with your sugar levels.
Thanks everyone- maybe I will give it another shot. It can't hurt, right. :D
