Hi, I've been lurking for a while and enjoying all the informaton here. I've been low carbing since boxing day last year, and have lost 12 kg. I was doing really well but the last two weeks, my weight loss has stopped. I also lost it at easter and indulged in chocolate etc.
I have been trying all week to get back on track but keep giving in to cravings. I'm really scared that I'll end up putting back on everything I've lost and then some.
Anyone got some advice about how to get remotivated and recover after going off plan?

Well, first of all, your weightloss has "stopped" because you stopped following the plan ;)
I had a difficult time over Spring Break (kids out of school, I was on vacation for the whole time, went to visit family....) and I'm now on Day 2 of getting back on track.
What helped me get back on track was to come here to the forum and read! It's really motivating and puts me back in that "LC groove" :D Also, it's really that first step for me. If I start the day LC it makes it that much easier to make the next snack/meal LC, then the next and the next.....
Make sure you have LC friendly foods in the house, at least enough for a day or so and make sure it's stuff that you really enjoy (I love jalapeno havarti cheese and also devilled eggs :yum: ).
Hope this helped a bit,

I know the cravings can be horrible when you've fallen off track but the main thing is to try to stay focused and they will go away. Like Nicole said, try to make sure you have enough low carb snacks handy for the first few days back on track. You might want to try making yourself a low carb cheesecake or something to have handy for when you get that craving for sweets. I've made Bawdy's low carb cheesecake in the "sweet treats" thread and it is absolutely delicious!! Very easy to make also. You'll notice after the first few days, the cravings start to go away again.
Also, I see you were doing the Atkin's Plan. You might want to pull the book out and start reading it again. Maybe that will be a motivater for you. Coming here and reading all these threads usually gets me motivated. Not to mention, I stepped on the scale today thinking I had gained weight only to find out that I had actually lost weight!! Go figure!! I have been good with the Easter baskets though.....lol. I only stole about 2 or 3 little pieces of chocolate from my kids baskets over the course of a week.

To get these cravings under control, you must get back to basics. For a few days, eat fat with abandon and minimal carbs. You will have to make it through the withdrawel like before!
