I love Stallone Protien pudding. I buy it at GNC, kinda $$$$ 5.39 for 4 cans.
Taste great and only has 1 carb. No SAs and 20 grams of protien.

It is great. Freeze it then let it defrost a little before you eat it. Great product. But yes, a little pricy

I read this thread and thought I would give it a try. I bought Stallone High Protein Pudding. I purchased the Vanilla Creme for for 4.99. I almost threw it up  .I couldn't stand the taste. Maybe I got the wrong kind

The vanilla is pretty bad... it has a sort of metallic, bitter, vitamin-y flavor. I think the chocolate is really good though. Still a hint of the vitamin flavor (sort of like a shake) but less so.

I like the vanilla, but it has to be cold. It's gross at room temp, for sure. I like the lemon and the chocolate too - handy for a quick breakfast. But again, they have to be really cold! I also transfer it into a bowl before I eat it because I don't like the taste from scraping around the inside of the can with a spoon - but that's an issue I have with any kind of canned pudding, not just this one!

I wish that I would have read these posts before I bought the pudding. I would have purchased the chocolate flavor and not vanilla. With the vanilla, I felt as if I were def. eating PROTEIN pudding. I will try freezing the remaining three cans because I refuse to throw them out after I spent so much!

I hear ya smiley. I purchased my pudding and couldn't wait to taste it. I thought since it was so expensive it would be yummy. I didn't freeze it I just opened and digged in or should I say spit out. I still have the rest maybe I'll freeze it and finsh it off or feed my it to my goddaughter(hehe).

Here's a question though - when you freeze it, what keeps it from exploding from the can? Do you freeze it all the way, or for just a little while?

It HAS to be cold (fridge, dunno about freezer) or it is definitely iffy. Put it in the fridge before eating!

Hated the lemon and vanilla--just a nasty taste and mouth feel. Chocolate is much better but it has to be cold. I also noticed a huge difference between batches--the first batch (I wish I had written down the batch number) was extremely gelatinous and the texture was very unapealling (sp) the current batch which I just tried is much better--much creamier texture. The other thing that helps is to stir well before eating--it just seems to break up the gel texture a bit. When I bought it from netrition.com the customer service rep was very helpful in pulling a box to make sure that the batch number was the same as the one that I liked. Hope this helps a bit.

You have to stir it up before eating. I had both the vanilla and chocolate and I loved them. I never really was a pudding fan before, either! I had the vanilla at slightly colder than room temperature (it was in the fridge all night and then sat in my desk at work until noon) and it was still good. Yah, some bites were a bit vitamin-y, but I was happy to eat something so sweet!
PVL makes an instant pudding that you blend up with a hand mixer or a whisk. It is ready in 1 minute. It is pretty good. I've had the butterscotch only.

I love these, I read posts before buying so I did not buy the vanilla. I paid 7.99 for 4 cans at GNC. The sales guy there said he loves the vanilla that it tastes like cake mix not really vanilla. I bought the chocolate and the banana. I put it in a bowl and stirred it up and it is great! Worth the money for the 20 grams of protein.

I tried the vanilla, they didnt have chocolat.
i have ate 4 boxes already...... i think its AMAZING!
it satisfies my sweet tooth, and its a great breakfast.
I keep it in the fridge.
i froze it once and then let it defrost but that took to long.. it was always good, frozen or refrigirated.
I never tried it room temparture b/c i think it would be like the shakes, not good.
Who has tried lemon?

I just tried the chocolate and I thought it was GREAT, and best of all I pick up a 4 pack at GNC and it was on sale at $3.99 !!
I like is so much that I would probably pay full price for a pack.

I bought vanilla and chocolate in December. We ate them very well chilled, and I thought they they were delicious.
Then I started getting nervous about all the protein in them: 20 grams per serving. I eat so much protein already: 2 eggs and cheese for breakfast, 6 oz tuna and more cheese for lunch, an Atkins shake every afternoon (which has 20 grams of protein), and then 6 to 8 ounces of beef, fish, or chicken for dinner. Somehow it just spooked me to me getting another 20 grams of protein from an after dinner snack.
But I really liked the taste of both flavors, and didn't mind the price for an occasional treat.

I wish I would have read this post just a little bit earlier. I ordered it off of netrition.com (chocolate & bananna) when I got it, I was also curious to see how it tasted and I tasted it at room temp. It was awful and I threw it in the trash. I will definitley put the others in fridge and try them. I am glad I saw this post. I thought I had just wasted my money.

You've hit on the secret there. The Stallone pudding is pretty good if chilled.
I like the new Banana Cream flavor in particular.

Has anyone found this pudding any less expensive than netrition or GNC--the closest is 50 miles and I don't get there too often. I have ordered the chocolate, vanilla and banana previously, would like more, so I am looking for a better price!
Thanks~

I'm not PBGirl but I was curious too. Do a google search on PVL pudding. You'll find it. Looks pretty interesting. There aren't alot of US distributors though - mostly Canada and the UK. Website wheygourmet seems promising . . . I might have to try it. It works out to $1.25 a serving if you buy it through them.

Just an update to my last post - I just realized they are considering a packet of pudding 2 servings, not 1. That means for one envelope it's $2.49, but if you only eat half of what the envelope makes, it's $1.25/serving.
Still, from their nutritional facts, half an envelope should be 2.5 carbs, 18gr protein, 110 calories. You just have to be disciplined enough to eat only half of what you make each time.

i just tried that banana, that was good too, all thats left for me to try is lemon, but i am afraid.
the only reason i hope i like lemon is because then its really cheap to buy it, a box of the mixed ones if 24.99.. 1 box vanilla, 1 chocolat, 1, banana and one lemon. where as a case of just vanilla is like 44 dollars . (my $ may be off by a few)
somoeone tell me more about the lemon.

Just a heads up on this...drugstore.com has them in vanilla and chocolate, and for at least a month had them priced at $2.99 a 4 pack. It was definitely the best deal out there, though you're limited to 15 of any particular item per order, so you might need to place multiple orders. Right now they're at $7.99, so maybe just check over there every once in a while to see if they go back down at all.

PVL is a brand. From their website: The PVL Group was founded in 1996 here in Vancouver, British Columbia, by Jim McMahon See www.pvldirect.com
I eat the whole package when I make it. So it is 220 cals (chocolate is only 200), 38g protein, 4 fat and 0 net carbs. The package makes about a bowl and I eat it as a meal like breakfast. MMmmm

The Stallone pudding sounds a lot like the high protein Myoplex Pudding from EAS which are the products pushed for the Body for Life program. The odd thing is that the Stallone pudding came out about the same time the Myoplex Pudding was discontinued. Makes me wonder if it is not the same thing with a different label. Can someone post the nutritional information for the Stallone pudding? Thanks.
PB Girl

If I remember correctly:
1 can= 100 cals
20 g protein
2 g fat
1 g carb
PB Girl
Wed, Jun-28-06, 14:12
Yah this is correct. Also:
430mg sodium
440mg potassium
How does this compare with your Myoplex pudding?
fluffybear
Wed, Jun-28-06, 15:26
I guess I should have also asked about the ingredients to the Stallone pudding. EAS no longer makes the Myoplex pudding, but those nutrition stats are very close to the ones on the Myoplex low carb shakes, except the Myoplex has a little more protein. The funny thing is when I did a search using the term Myoplex Pudding, I got Stallone Pudding.

I'm planning to try these on my next netrition order (which may be awhile though, I just had a huge order arrive--wish I had known about this earlier) . I'm ordering the chocolate and the banana to try.

jjb2000: I think you will like the chocolate. I have never heard or read a negative comment about the chocolate flavor.

I have these all the time. I take them to work with me almost every day. I throw them in the fridge there for a while and by lunch time they are nice and cold.
I recently saw a vitamin shoppe brand protein pudding that I want to try. It comes in packets like an MRP, and it's low carb. I am afraid to buy the whole box though incase it's disgusting, lol.
Here is a link to the vanilla one. It comes in Chocolate as well.

Anyone every try it?

Well I wound up trying the Vitamin Shoppe one after all. I asked the guy if they sold single packets and he just opened up a box for me and sold me one of each so I can try them.
They ar eboth pretty good but IMO the vanilla is definitly better. It really tastes like the Jello sugar free instant pudding. The chocolate one is a little chalky in texture but it still taste's better then many protein shakes I have tried, and it's definitly something I would buy again if I got tired of the vanilla one.
I am going to head over there tommorow and buy a full box.

The Banana Cream and Lemon Cream flavors are very good. Unfortunately the Lemon Cream flavor has been discontinued.
