I just found this Breyers cal smart ice cream in the store and comparing the ingredients to the carb smart they have the exact same net carbs, exept that the cal smart has 70 calories vs. the carb smart has 130 calories for the same serving size. They both have the same amount of sugar in them 3g per serving, carb smart has 4g of SA where the cal smart has 6g of SA, the cal smart also says it is lower in fat. They both also seem to have the same ingredients in them they are both using sorbitol and glycerine for the SA, has anyone tried the calsmart icecream and what do you think of it versus the carb smart ice cream.

I was wondering the same thing. Both varieties have "4 Net Carbs" but the cal smart has much less calories and fat. It probably doesn't taste as good because the carbsmart is so rich and creamy, but if you're counting calories I'd think this would be an acceptable alternative. Anyone tried it?

I saw the cal smart as well, I think it's an excellent idea to have a low calorie/low fat AND low sugar ice cream. My dad is post heart attack and is SUPPOSED to be watching his fat intake but he's also diabetic so its great for him. Plus they make it in a bunch of different flavors instead of just vanilla which is great for him. I pick up my regular LC ice cream (vanilla LoL) and then get him a cal/carb smart sundae swirl.
I didn't try the cal smart but I did pick out some of the chocolate covered peanuts from his ice cream (shhhh!). LoL. I really liked that touch, thought it was really good. Also reminded me of my FAVORITE "ice cream": vanilla almond bark tofutti (carob covered almonds).

I have Breyers Carbsmart mint Chocolate chip and rocky road ice cream. I have to say, I wasn't as impressed with it as I was with Carb IQ mint chocolate chip. Carb IQ is rich & creamy and your can taste the chocolate in the Chocolate chips! Also, Carb IQ only has 3 net carbs in 1/2 in comparison to Breyers 4 Carbs.
