Hi

I have about 125 pounds that I need to lose. I started the low carb way of eating a year ago and lost 50 pounds in 6 months. I then crashed and burned and never got back to eating properly until last week. I am now back on the wagon and plan to stay there no matter what. I look on low carb as a way of life not a diet. When I am eating high carb foods I never feel as healthy. I am always low in energy and various minor complaints constantly cause me discomfort.

I find that my biggest obstacle is in planning ahead. If I have the appropriate foods cooked and packed up for work I have no temptations to stray. It is only when I am rushed and haven't prepared the night before that I start to contemplate hopping into the fast food chain down the street (fast food being my greatest weakness).

Hey Wendy! Nice to see you back!

I had the same problem, and it's tough. I guess if you don't manage to prepare somethign in advance, make an effort to go to a place with good protein. I find supermarkets at lunch time fit the bill, they'd sell half a chicken for the price of a large burger. :)

Yes, that is exactly what I try to do and fortunately there is a Swiss Chalet right around the corner from my work.

Hi Wendy. I also have 125 (-6) lbs to loose. I'm at 254 and want to go to 125, 1/2 of my starting weight. LC is great and it would be even greater if I would just stick with it. This time for sure. The nagging pain in my knee from surgery on 12/1 is my reminder that I must lose the weight if I want to keep walking around this earth.

I you really have to wind up at a fast food restaurant, most have a grilled chicken salad now that you can order. I've also gotten a grilled chicken sandwich or double cheese burger (no ketchup) and thrown the bun in the garbage. On other days when I'm in a rush, I just take some cold cuts from the fridge and roll them up at lunch time.... what my sister calls a "handwich".

You've done great already, so keep it up. Have you made the commitment yet to stay in the triple digits club for 1 year?

I hope Wendy reads your response. It appears she has not posted anything since October 29, 2001.

Thanks Mr. E. As you can see I am a newbie to the threads. I'll try to stay in current time in the future.
