I skimmed through all the pages - even though msnbc tries to download spyware on your machine every single time you view a different page - and it was interesting.

I don't know what, if anything, there is to actually learn from it. Six people is hardly anything upon which to base any conclusions of any kind. If anything, I would guess that the dominant factor involved didn't have anything to do with any of the plans but more with the fact that they were participating in something that would be broadcast nationally - which totally alters the motivation issue and completely skews the results.

I thought one tidbit was a bit telling - the gal on the South Beach diet got her diabetes completely under control and got off her meds and they referred to it as incredible. To their credit, they did mention that this is a common benefit of the South Beach diet but that just underscores the oddity of their reaction all the more. If they know that it is a common benefit, then why would they find it incredible that someone actually experienced said common benefit?
