Yikes...I know I shouldnt weigh myself daily, but I have been doing so well !
Got on the scale this morning, and I gained a pound ! I am in week 3...what is THAT about ?
I dont eat the atkins bars, I keep it clean, have not cheated once....some days I do not hit 20 carbs though. Could that be it?
I also do not drink as much water every day that I think I should be...only about 1 and a half liters.
Any suggestions anyone ??? I dont mind stalling...BUT NOT GAINING !

To keep your senity - do not weight yourself everyday. Your weight can fluctuate 2-4 lbs from one day to the other.
(Simply eating a small portion of high sodium item, being one hour in an overheated room, TOM, etc. )
The 1.5 lit water is very low. Double it minimum.
How about posting your menu? We could help much more:-)

My diet...Doesnt alter much day by day
Breakfast 2 hard bolied eggs
Lunch Grilled chicken salad, with 2 ounces cheese
Dinner Chicken breast or steak, 1 cup spinach
Snacks during the day....2 more hard boiled eggs, 2 ounces of cheese
Drink only 1.5 litres of water, and a large decaf with cream....Never drink anything but the two.
I have also quit smoking at the same time, and taken up jogging on the the treadmill for 40 minutes nightly. I really thought the exercise would combat the slower metabolism due to the non smoking...
Any suggestions ? Is anything glaringly wrong ?

Don't worry too much, your doing fine. Your body need's time to adjust to this new way of eating. Do NOT weigh yourself everyday, I know it's tempting but your going to do your head in! Most people lose really fast on induction then get disappointed when it slows, stops or even gain. If you know your doing things the right way be patient it will start to come of again. 1 pound is probebly just fluid and don't forget muscle weighs more than fat, so if your working out you could be building some muscle. Keep up the good work!!

Yep, I'd say it's just a fluctuation. I weigh daily but don't get too upset if it stays the same or goes up a bit -- I know I'm following the plan and that it works....key ingredient? PATIENCE!!! This from the Queen of Impatience
Also, I've read it over and over again here and also experienced it myself -- pretty much everybody stops losing for a bit of time, somewhere between weeks 3 - 5. The general consensus is that it's your body adjusting to the quicker losses during Induction. Stick it out and you'll start moving down again!
Congrats on staying so well on-plan! you're doing fantastic

I would say the water is the most likely cause... combined with the infamous 3rd week stall.
A liter and a half is about 50oz, below the minimum recommended of 64. I found I lose better if I drink more than 128. And if you have just added the 40min of exercise, then your body is likely retaining water, so you need even more.
Also, while the cardio is great, how about some weight training too? Larger muscles burn more fat even at rest.

Im in week three also and stepped on the scale about three days ago and I had gained 4 lbs., I almost cried .like you I havent cheeted and I keep my carbs below 20. but I also step on the scale quite frequently perhaps I should have my husband hide it.
Girls, Guys....
Do it this way. Choose 1 day per week and weigh yourself. The rest of the week , eat right and forget about it. I face the same problem with my wife... everyday shes on those damn scales... I hear OKG its gone up 2lbs.. my response is sod that... take the reading on our weigh in day. Guess what .. by then... shes either the same as the week b4 or lighter.....
Problem solved....

Thanks for all your feedback. Patience has never been one of my strong points, maybe through this I will learn how to be patient !! lol
Scales are off limits except once a week...no use getting depressed daily ...and I will up my water intake for sure.
As far as weights go, I bought some 8 lb dumbells tonight, and I will give them a try. I tell ya, I am willing to do pretty much anything at this point ...lol

Did you say that you quit smoking also? I've read in other threads that when you quit smoking, it also slows your metabolism down a bit. I would rather be smoke-free with a slower metabolism than have to worry about all the other problems that come along with smoking. And this is coming from someone who smokes!! My next big step, once I am comfortable with my progress with this WOE, will be to quit smoking. I give you a big thumbs-up for conquering both at the same time. Personally, I don't think I would be able to handle it. Like others have said though........your body usually goes through catch-up period at around 3 - 4 weeks into this WOE. It's nothing to worry about just yet. If after 4 weeks or more you still don't see the scale moving.....then you can think about tweaking your menu to find out what it is that is causing your stall. And also......like the others said......drink plenty of water!!
Happy Losing!!

Woops!! Just re-read your post and saw that you already knew that not smoking slows your metabolism.....lol!! Sorry!! Everything else I meant though.
