I've been treating myself to one can almost every night w/the whipping cream.....(root beer float-ish) and just noticed last night that the pop has aspertame in it....could this be stalling me?

Yes.
Cut it out for awhile, and see if things move.

You bet. Artificial sweenteners can stall you for sure. From a health standpoint, if you are going to use them, stick to Splenda.
Good luck!

Does anyone know then, what kind of pop is sweetened with splenda? It seems that everything in the house has aspertame!!! NO WONDER I'm stalled! ugh!!!

I know the following drinks are sweetened with Splenda (but check your labels just in case it's just a regional thing):
* Diet Rite
* Waist Watchers (Makes a Root Beer flavor)
* Food Lion brand diet sodas (in at least Diet Cola, Diet Lemon-Lime, Diet Ginger Ale and Diet Creme-Soda where I'm from)
I hope you can find them.

There's a new pepsi one that's sweetened with splenda. It has a black label instead of silver. Tastes just like regular pepsi!

aspertame may stall you, it seems to stall alot of people, but not all. it doesn't stall me. btw, there is a carb smart zero carb ice cream/sorbet, chocolate and vanilla together. it makes a great zero carb guilt free float :)

Hi!
Obviously, my first post past basic introduction.
I/we like diet pop, our usual choice is Diet Coke Caffeine Free...
Is this going to be a problem/issue on low carb dieting?
If so, is there a Cola that will not give a problem, not have caffeine and is available in Canada?

Aspartame doesn't stall me, but drinking any semi-sweet drink makes me drink a lot less water. You might want to look at that as well. Less water is more likely to make you stall than a diet root beer IMHO. Also, althought I didn't have one EVERY night.. sometimes you just need to satisfy that desert tooth.. and that's a GREAT way to do it!!
GOOD LUCK on this plan.

I've lost almost 40 pounds drinking diet soda with asparatame. It doesn't stall me. YMMV.
