I was reading something, I can't find it again on the net of course, that talked about CLA as a wt loss supplement. I bought some and it says not to take with fiber. Can anyone tell me why the two should not be taken together? Does one negate the effects of the other? Do the 2 together increase the risk of Gastro-intestinal distress? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I got an answer from the comany finally;
Thank you for your interest in Tonalin CLA. Look for the Tonalin brand when
you purchase CLA to ensure you are buying the purest product and the most
clinically proven CLA on the market. Tonalin CLA is the only brand with 7
published clinical trials to show its effectiveness in reducing body fat.
To answer your below question, there are some types of fiber that are
suppose to absorb oil and thus excrete the oil. This is not all fiber.
You can take fiber with CLA and be ok. I suggest you consult with your
physician to discuss in detail if the fiber and CLA is right for you.
Good Health,

Fiber CAN interfere with the absorption of a lot of supplements and medications. Not hard to figure out when you think about what's happening with the fiber in your intestine--swelling up with water and pushing on through. If your other pill gets surrounded by the fiber, it may not get acted on by intestinal juices the way it's supposed to.
You think CLA is bad; I've heard birth control pills can be at risk!!
The solution: Take your fiber as far away from any other supplements or medications as you can. I take six different rounds of supplements throughout the day, so it can be a bit tricky to find a gap, but if I'm needing fiber, I'll look for that space--usually mid-afternoon or mid-morning--and swallow a couple of fiber caps then. (Carry them in my purse for just that reason.)
