Hi Everyone... well, my induction is over and I have only lost 4 pounds. I am happy the number hasn't fluctuated too much, but shouldn't I have lost more? From what I see out there on posts, it seems as if many of you shed a ton of weight initially. I know I don't have too much to lose in total (about 15 more lbs or so) - could that be why? Hmm... should I be worried?

On average, people tend to lose 10% of the total weight they need to lose during the 2 weeks of induction.
Those people that you see with larger losses, look at how much they need to lose...I'm sure it's more than 15 lbs.
You're way ahead of the game...good job!

when I did this before I really didnt lose all that much durring induction. This time I have been religios about exersise along with it. I lost 11lbs in the first week, but I have muxh more than 15 to lose. If you are at 20% already you are in great shape in my opinion.

Low Carb is not a quick fix, its a lifestyle. You will lose consistently if you work at it, but it wont always be fast. Fluctuations are very common also, you may lose 5 and then gain three or even more, as the fat cells retain water after losing fat. So, if you are looking for a fast weight loss, it aint gonna happen. Read a few journals of long timers and you will see, slow and steady wins the race.
Good luck,,,,

I'm on my third week of Induction. I'm not losing a lot like some other people but I'm still pleased. I've lost about 7 pounds but I haven't weighed myself since Monday. However, when I got up this morning, it feels that I might have lost a pound or two more. I'll know Sunday morning. I think that now that I'm going to the gym (treadmill: 3 miles each time), it's making a difference. It's surprising how much energy I have. My husband has to keep reminding to slow down but I can't seem to do it. At work, I'm full of energy, much happier, I'm always in a good mood. After work, I go to the gym and do my 3 miles on the treadmill. I'd love to go more often but the weather has been extremely cold in Sudbury (Ontario, Canada). Every morning, it's been about -35 degrees and tonight after shopping, it was just freezing.
I have to be honest. After three weeks of induction, I am kind of getting a little bit of eggs for breakfast and sometimes for supper as well. I'm trying to stay within or below the 20 grams a day. As much as I'd love to have some cereal with milk, I count the carbs and I'm able to resist. I didn't realize how much will power I have. This is great. Being in control is so gratifying.

What's IMC Caroline? 9 pounds in ONE week is already 10% of the way to your goal. And you could lose more in the second week if you keep to the plan. It's only strict for the first 2 weeks.
Yes, the rate of loss slows down after Induction but it doesn't stop. And you may still lose inches while the scale does not show a loss. So be sure to measure many parts of your body and keep track of how the measurements change. If you see a change on the tape measure, then you won't mind if the pounds go more slowly.
People on LC can gain some muscle tissue while still losing fat. The scale won't show a loss, but the tape and your clothes will show it.
Good luck. You're off to a great start.
