 Hi,

I am new to this board and came to look for Product and Restaurant recommendations. And saw the posts about edge chips being discontinued.

I have just talked to Customer Service at Frito Lay. He said the Edge chips were discontinued because of lack of sales, but they would consider bringing them back if they had enough calls.

Call Frito Lay at 1-800-352-4477. If they hear from enough of us they may listen.

I called Frito-Lay last week after my grocery store manager told me they were discontinuing the Edge products. Part of the problem, at least in my local store, is that the Edge products weren't on the shelves with the other chips. Poor marketing, imho.

LOL, Moonwalker. Yes...it's probably beating a dead horse. To tell the truth, I tried a couple of the low carb Frito-Lay products; didn't care for them myself and nobody in my family would touch them after one taste with a 10 foot baguette.
Maybe the product showed poor sales because a) it wasn't low enough in carbs to be useful until well into OWL or maintainence and b) they didn't taste that great. IIRC, they also contained transfats. :p

But hey...start an online petition and see how many signatures you get. If they think there's enough interest they might bring them back in a limited production line.

anne, i agree with you on that. the last few times i went to buy them, it took me 20 minutes to find them, 2 or 3 laps around the store. they wouldn't ever keep them with the other chips, and they would move them every few days to some odd place in the store. how was anyone supposed to buy something that they can't find?

 This is exactly what I told the person I talked to at Frito Lay, if the sales were off, it could well be for the lack of advertisement and the stores putting them wherever they had a spot and they couldn't be found.

It may well be beating a dead horse, but stranger things have happened. If they get enough calls it may make a difference.

Again, if you would like to see Edge chips back on the market call Frito Lay at 1-800-352-4477 and tell them we want them back.

i honestly am starting to believe they havent really been discontinued. Im still seeing them everywhere. Kroger always has them in stock, and today i noticed Wal-Mart had stocked up again. Maybe its just my area.

I noticed that my local low carb specialty store had some when I was in there the other week and commented that I thought that they had been discontinued. The owner replied that they had and that what was on the shelves was the last of her stock and that she would not be able to get any more. Perhaps the stores by you had a fairly large amount of the product in stock and are just putting it on the shelves until it's gone?

I know it is horrible. I didn't mind the edge chips the soy was only overwhelming towards the end. The doritos and the Tostidos were great! But alas now they are out with those 1/3 of the calories but still all the carbs chips which is kinda ticken me off.
