Hey there  . I'm looking for folk who have tried some of the atkins advantage stuff or other low carb things n tell me if it's any good or not.

I tried the morning shine bars, strawberry and apple, and can honestly say they were revolting, almost spat the apple one out :Puke:

I know the last time i did the diet i tasted some chocolate bar that was excellent- can't remember what it was though.

Cheers guys :)

The chocolate bar may have been a Ross bar. They are excellent.

In terms of a morning type bar, I really like the Carbolite Cereal Bar. It comes in three flavors, Strawberry, Cinnamon Roll, and Blueberry. I have only tried the Strawberry and the Cinnamon Roll (I am allergic to blueberries) and really like both of them.

if i were you i would avoid those things. Espicially since you are just starting. The sugar alcohols in those bars are carbs, you cant really subtract them like the label says. They will stall you.

I have the bars every now and then as a meal replacement, It has not stalled me.

Just want something to look forward to.

And something in the mornings too, cant face anything meaty or warm in the mornings. Could that sound any worse

morning start bars aren't really that good...try the atkins advantage chocolate peanut butter. i prefer that for breakfast when on the run.

I agree to a point. They MAY stall you. Sugar alcohols affect everyone differently. I eat the cereal bars only in the morning for breakfast if I am running late and cannot cook something. I don't have them everyday. They don't seem to knock me out of ketosis. Of course, that is just me.

The Ross bars I keep on hand in case I have an overwhelming craving, but I have not eaten one in over 6 months. If I have them available I don't seem want them, which is fine by me.

I do agree that you should stay away from sugar alcohols as much as possible. I limit my sugar alcohol intake to my cereal bars.

I find the Atkins Advantage bars very sweet and very expensive - I stay away from all LC products - maybe when I hit goal, I'll venture a bit, but I prefer whole natural foods myself.

The advantage bars are good, at walmart they're close to the same price as the morning start bars but they're bigger and taste better.

Advantage bars I've tried are the double chocolate (wasn't bad), peanut butter (pretty decent), the coconut (not bad), prailines (good), smores (my fav).

The morning start bars I've tried are the apple crisp (was good but it had maltitol!!! I was so mad when I read the ingredients) the trail mix (uhm *puke* it tasted like peas) and the blueberry (no word can describe how bad this was).

I don't really eat the bars that often but if I was going to get one I'd pick the advantage. Overall they seem better.

I like the morning start cinnamon roll bar. it tastes good and there is no malitol at all.

I also tried the morning start cereal (blueberry) and it was pretty good. watch the portion sizes though. I used heavy cream in it.
