Has anyone heard any news about the low carb potato "Spud-U-Lite" lately. I know its supposed to launch this month, but I haven't seen it in any retailers as of yet nor have I heard anything about it since July. I am just curious as to whether or not it will still launch this month or at all with all these claims of the low carb lifestyle "fading out".

OK, I finally found the new low carb spuds. They had them at publix in my area, and they sell for $3.99 for a 3 lb bag. They are called SunLite and they are in a yellow and orange bag. I just bought them today so, haven't had a chance to taste them yet, but I'll let you know how they taste as soon as I get a chance to do so. For those that are intrested, here is the website that will have more info about the spud.

i thank the mfgr for their help to us lcing but i say no thanks!! i have enough problems trying to decipher the transfat, hydrogr, sodium, artificial, heart-healthy stuff in the foods i'm already eating on lcing. i'd rather not add fuel to the fire with another processed "uni/faux-potato"

I just tried the potato last night. I really like the taste, but to me it did not taste any different from a regular potato. Also after weighing myself 24 hours after consumption, I did not experience any weight gain. As a matter of fact I lost a pound. However I would still eat it sparingly as an occasional treat since it is still fairly high in carbs, and would not recommed it during induction. Also I cannot say that your body will react the same way since everyones' metabolism is different, therefore you might want to do l little experimentation of your own and see how your body reacts. Let me know your results if you decide to try it.
Good Luck.
