According to Dr James Le Fanu book "Eat Your Heart Out" 1988,
The rates of heart desease peaked around 1968 and since is on
a rapid decrease. The records in his book only go to 1980
where it is below 1950 levels. According to general
information I got from the internet, heart desease is
increasing very rapidly. Using Googles, I could not find any
rates of heart desease data. Can anyone lead me to data
showing rates of heart desease over the years 1980-the
present? regards andrew vecsey

This is due to introduction of new drugs like beta
blockers , calcium channel blockers , ace- inhibitors
etc coupled with better methods of diagnostic equipment
and tests .
