I am wanting to go to SBD because of getting to eat more whole grains and fruit and such. I am nervous because every time I try to add more carbs with lc bread and cereal and vegies I stop losing. Has anyone else made the switch and continued to lose ok? I really miss oatmeal and whole wheat toast every once in a while. Thanks!

I eat grains on a very limited basis...I stay away from cereals that claim to be low carb and stick with a whole grain like old fashioned oat meal.

I have whole wheat toast once in a while.

The way we do it is after we complete phase I, we gradually add good carbs back into our plan. One piece of fruit each day for the first week. SEcond week try a grain and a fruit each day and see how that goes. If you see your weight loss slowing down, this is when you would withdraw the daily grain.

This site http://mizfrogspad.com has a South Beach section that is very up to date. It has a section called How to Adapt Your Meal Plan and lists how to increase your carbs which I have found very helpful.

I now have Dreamfields pasta but once every 2 weeks. Its a real treat for me!!

Hey Vandi68, I switched starting today. So I will keep you posted. It is harder in that there are so many more varieties to choose from in this first phase. So I am still learning. I have read the book up thorough the phase one and I am really liking it so far. I too miss the fruits and for somereason it is really hard for me to eat that high of fat. It makes my chest hurt too :q:

Good luck in whatever you choose. BTW I am still staying very lc and won't be adding in any real carbs for a while.
