I need a Low-Carb, No Sugar Added ice cream recommendation that is very low carb, very low calorie, sweetened with Splenda, and has the least amount of sugar alcohols. I am sugar alcohol sensitive, so I avoid them. Is there an ice cream with erythritol? I was having LeCarb, but the flavors just do not do it for me anymore. I shop at Wal-Mart and Kroger, and noticed a Blue Bunny brand that looked pretty good. The Mint Chocolate Chip, Rocky Road, Butter Pecan flavors of ice cream are calling to me now! HELP!! I need a Holiday Treat!!

I don't know if it's available in your area, but I absolutely LOVE Turkey Hill Carb-IQ Peanut Butter Paradise. It has the same texture as regular ice-cream, made with Splenda and I think it's 3 carbs per serving. They also have Choc. Chip mint, Butter Pecan, and a couple others I think. I always get the Peanut Butter one. I've tried Breyers and I don't care for it (don't care for regular Breyer's though, either) and I wasn't crazy about the Eddy's low carb one either... definitely different texture than Turkey Hill.
Like I said, I don't know if this brand is available in your area, but if so definitely give it a try - I'm sure you'll be pleased.

My household's brand of choice is Edy's Carb Benefit ice cream. It is sold under the Dreyer name on the west coast. It is in round, cardboard container and only contains 3g of sugar alchohol. http://www.edys.com/brand/bfy/flavorlisting.asp?b=1378

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think I have ever seen the Turkey Hill brand in my area. I might have seen the Edy's at Wal-Mart and Kroger, I have definitely seen the regular Edy's. Thanks for the website, it looks good! I will be visiting my brother next week in Glen Allen, Va., maybe I can find it there and try it.

erwife--I'm very sensitive to SA's too. My favorite has been the Kroger Private Selection coffee almond (with chocolate swirls)--definitely the best tasting to me.. BUT---I finally figured out that the chocolate part of it is just killer to my tummy. So, no more of that for me.. Today, I just bought the plain vanilla (Kroger Private Selection--no added sugar--Splenda sweetened), and will just add a few frozen blueberries to it. This might just be my imagination, but I think the chocolate chunks and globs are the parts where the most sugar alcohols are concentrated. If I just HAVE to have some chocolate in my little scoop of ice cream, I'll just crumble a bit of a ZCarb bar on top. Maybe this would help you, too. You might be able to find a plainer flavor, and add some of the things that you like--without the tummy upset. Oooh--how about a bit of the ZCarb and a few nuts?

Why don't you make your own? I do ;)
Cocoa Tofutti
1/2 banana, frozen
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
8 oz firm silken tofu (my fave brand is mori-nu)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp nutmeg.
1) place banana and maple syrup in food processor and pulse until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and process until smooth and creamy. Eat (it's like soft serve at this point) or transfer mixture to ice cream maker, toss in 1/4 cup chopped nuts and process until more frozen/ice cream-like.
It's nearly 90% protein, what's not to like?? :yum:
