What is a whoosh? What do they do and when do they happen?

AWhoosh is apparent weight loss that happens overnight. One day you wake up and you're 3 or 4 lbs lighter. The key is the water. As you lose body fat your fat cells shrink. Fat cells don't really like shrinking, so they compensate with water. By drinking more water you force them to flush out the excess and you have a whooosh.

Thanks Wa'il
It was good to learn a little bit more about the Whoosh Fairy. Thanks Lessara. This question has cropped up time and time again on this Forum and each time I learn something new about the Whoosh Fairy!!
I hope this lovely creature visits me ... and you ... soon!! S/he would be most welcome ... I'll even lay out the red carpet :D
Take care.

You have to go read the poem - it's so cute. Saw this and thought I'd bump it up.

Some of us get whooshes and some of us don't. I have never dropped 3 or 4 pounds overnight. I just slowly drop pounds one at a time. I'd love to have a whoosh sometime, but it doesn't seem like it is going to happen.

Dang, I've never had a whoosh either, but man would I love one!.... Hmm... good knowledge to have though. Maybe with more water I can invite the whoosh ferry for a visit... hmm... something to ponder!
