I started SBD immediately after the birth of my second child (7-25-04) I had lost over 15 pounds in roughly 2 months.. I was working out at least 4 days a week, I was feeling good, and looking better. Well, needless to say I gave up, and got distracted. SO, now I am determined to jump back on the band wagon and ride this thing on out...
Just wondering if anyone was starting over and if so.. I would love to have a buddy....

Hey BabyPhat!
Good Luck on your Journey! I've been on SB since 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I haven't lost the weight I was hoping for so I'm staying on Phase 1 another week or so. I was at 199, this morning 202 (I am hoping b/c it's the week before that TOM). I think I'm going to try to go to the gym tonight and do lots of cardio & some weights.
 I'm not completely new but I'd love the company.....I'm also from Texas!!!
Have a great day!

Perkins, I'm in Austin, too!! Any suggestions of restaurants in the area? I'm pretty good about eating at home, but i'm tired of, when I'm out, most all the LC dishes being so high in fat!
I just re-started 12/4 after 6 months off and 25 lbs up. I've got the rules down if you've got questions... my problem is I know all the sneaky ways around them and need to keep myself on the straight and narrow!

Hello Austingirl!
There are many great restaurants here in town. PF Chang's actually offers a gluten free menu. I'm a big fan of their chicken lettuce wraps. Anytime I go out I pretty much get something grilled. The other night I had grilled fish with a skewer of grilled shrimp with a green salad.
Last night I had fajitas w/ the fixings. No rice or tortillas. I think Chili's & maybe Applebee's started offering a lower carb menu....I'm not sure how the fat count is. My birthday is next week & my office is getting me a Low Fat, Low carb, cheesecake from the Ultimate Cheesecake Factory. It's next to Mervyns in the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center. 3 carbs per serving.
What are some of the places you enjoy going to? Do you live north or south?
Have a great day.....Hope my suggestions help.

Perkins,
I am totally going to have to check out the Ultimate Cheescake Factory!
As far as restaurants I like:
I try to go to Kirby Lane or Magnolia cafe whenever possible - always yummy breakfasts, all day long. I often go to Iguana Cafe off 620 past the dam, just get the fajitas w/o tortillas - their marinade for the beef is really good. For nice occasions, Siena at 360 & 2222 cooks everything over a wood-fired grill, so the fish and meats have great flavor. There's a fish restaurant just on the other side of 13 from the arboretum which is really flexible with their menu -any fish, cooked how you want it, with any sauce - I can't remember the name, though; Florida something? I live northwest, so most of the places I frequent are up there.

Good Morning Austingirl!
I use to live up north until March of this year. My job is south and I was sick of driving. The Sea Island or Seafood Island (?) up by Parmer is were I had the grilled fish and shrimp......So Yummy. I love Magnolia and Kerby lane...My problem when I go is I think I have to have the big bowl of Queso! I'm a cheese-aholic.
When you did SB before how much weight did you loose in a month? I've been on it a little over a month and my loss is 10lbs. I'm just trying to see if I'm doing this correct or what. Somedays I feel really good about it and others not so good. I haven't cheated since Thanksgiving even thought the temptation is there. Do you know of any good soup receipies? When I eat things that are higher in sodium I drink probably a liter more water that day. Do you think that's enought to flush the sodium?
I've been trying to work out more. I work out with weights probably 3 or 4 times a week. Do you think that's why I haven't noticed much results?
Thanks~~Perkins

Perkins - sorry I've been gone for a while.
I've got the queso jones, too, esp. when at Kerbey.
The first time I did SBD, I lost maybe 15 pounds the first month. But, I did Phase 1 for the whole month, and was religious about it. I was also going from a pretty dreadful WOE to SBD; this time, I've been on 2 weeks and I've only lost 3 pounds; I was eating relatively healthy before, though, and I've not been as good (The first time I was content with a turkey roll-up; I can't for the life of me make myself eat them now!). I think my meals are a little higher calorie. I make soups quite often, because they freeze well and I can leave them for my husband to eat during the week. I'm particularly fond of lentil soup (I make mine with white beans and lentils), and beef and tomato soup with spinach. I made a chicken soup this weeked, but I don't know if it was any good - I'll have to ask the husband when I get home this week.
If you want any of these recipes, let me know and I'll try to write them down. I'm a "from-the-head" cook, I make up my own recipes, but I can usually get pretty good approximations on paper if need be.
As for the lifting weights, it really depends on your body chemistry as to if that will stall you. I have PCOS (therefore high testosterone), so I bulk up quick for a girl. I will GAIN weight as soon as I start lifting, but the inches will still come off of the fat parts... when I get into exercising along with SBD, I track measurements as well as weight; otherwise I'd get very discouraged!
