Although I lost the first 50 pounds at a pace I was happy with (about 2 pounds a week) I have long since become a serious turtle (now averaging about three pounds a month). I've tried lots of things to pick up the pace, but I haven't been able to boost it very much. And recently I have come to terms with the way things are. I continue to notice improvements in my appearance and stamina even with my small recent losses. I'm so relieved to be more comfortable in the world (seat belts, chairs, etc.). I eat a varied LC diet and I don't feel deprived or obsessed with food. I'm exercising regularly and enjoy weight training in particular.

So I'm here to say that it is ok to lose slowly! I recommend keeping track on a monthly basis if you feel you are a turtle. My weight fluctates by a few pounds every week, and I need about a month to see the downward trend.

The experts say.......the slower it comes off.......the longer it will stay off. I am a turtle also. I have a friend who went BAM and had her weight gone. I've been lo carbing since March 15 of this year and just hit my 50lb weight loss this past Friday. To me, as long as it comes off..........I don't care how long it takes LOL.

Hi Red,
Personally I don't think that 50 pounds in 7 months is a slow loss--it's a fabulous loss!
