I'm looking for anyone who is on the Adkins diet who lives near Manchester or Concord. Want to talk? Want a diet pal?
I've been on the diet for 6 weeks, got lots to lose.

I don't live near you. I live in Claremont a VT border town. This is the 2nd time I have been on Atkins. I have found it is the easiest program to be on. This site helps on the ideas for foods and other ways so as not to be so bored. Good luck to you.

Hi Lessara,
I am in NH. I live about 20 minutes northwest of Concord. I used to live in Manchester...still drive through it every day...I work in Merrimack! I just started low carb and am trying to lose about 10 more pounds. Which plan are you following? How has it been so far? I am not a big meat eater, so I am finding it a little difficult, but I am losing! Hope to hear from you!

I'm on the Atkins Plan myself. It will be 10 weeks as of this friday.
I eat alot of meat, mainly due to the fact I can't eat cheese and eggs or soy. I think if my body wasn't against those things, I would prefer to be a vegitarian. Or at least restrict my proteins more. I work in Manchester as well as live there. What do you do?
I'm a Civil Engineer Technician. Married? Children?
I'm such a curious person aren't I? ;)

Hi Lessara!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! Let's see... I am 33, married for a little over two years (feels like 20!), no kids (probably not going to have any), one very large dog that is like a child and a very demanding job that I love! I am a business systems analyst at a large company. We moved to NH from MA in 1999 for my job. My husband really liked the idea of moving, but I was not as sure. Now I love it here! We lived in Manchester for the first year and then last May we bought a house in a little town about 20 minutes northwest of Concord. My husband grew up in a small town, but I didn't. I love it!

So, I have been back on low carb for a couple weeks or so and I have lost 7 pounds and I feel great. Some days I definitely don't eat enough, but I am trying to fix that! What about you? Married? Children?

Look forward to hearing from you!
Carrie

I'm kinda married. My husband left me due to complications to diabetes but we are trying to get back together again but Manchester has housing shortages
I'm 37 but look much younger (No one, I mean no one, thinks I tell the truth about this, and I'm one who doesn't mind being 37!)
I have two kids, A girl who is 14 and a boy who is 11. Both are ADHD like their Mom :p
I have just upped my water to 4 liters a day a few days ago and lost 3lbs. Can you believe it? That was it. My stall is broken!!
I have to tell you, I love my job too! I draw all day!
Well, got to go.

I live outside of Manchester also but work towards the Seacoast. I lost weight the first few weeks and then nothing after that. I do have to say that my clothes continued to fit better despite the weight staying the same. But in the last week, I have been terrible and have to get back on track. I dread going through withdrawal again but I know that within a week, I will be feeling so much better, I just have to do it.
there is also a Karen that I have seen on the board that is from NH. Sounds like we have enough people to get together sometime.

If you guys did do a get together, and it was during a school vacation (I'm a teacher) I could come over from Maine.

Hopeful,

Elihnig

A get together would be fun, but with holidays coming up it will be tough for me. I have two kids and three families. So my time just isn't my own. How about after the holidays?

Can anyone else go a get-together during the Christmas school break or should we try to plan something for January?

Hi Lessara,
I am still here. I changed ISP's and so I changed my username (used to be WentzNH). Anyway... I have been reading the board daily but not posting. I have been thinking about starting a journal, but haven't done that yet. I read yours this morning. Boy, you have a lot going on right now! I think you got some good advice from the others. I was with someone for six years and engaged (a couple years before I met my husband). The guy I was with was my soul mate for sure, and we are still very close friends, but it took a LONG time before we could comfortably be friends again after I ended the relationship. No doubt that I loved him, but there was something missing. We were meant to be friends and now we are both happily married to other people. I guess that I am trying to say be careful and make sure that you want to be with him for the right reasons, because it will change everything if it doesn't work out. There is Tony and there is your husband, but you don't have to chose...you are beautiful and funny and smart and there are plenty of other men that would be so lucky to have you. I hope that you don't have to be confused too long and the answer will come easily to you!
Hugs!
Carrie

Hello, fellow Granite Stater! Haven't been online for a while, but finally have the time to browse this great site. Have been on Atkins for about 3 months, and have lost 34 pounds. My husband joined me, and he's doing great, too. My daughter and son-in-law, as well! This is the easiest "diet" that I've ever been on. Have adopted it as WOL- I explain to nay-sayers that some people are diabetic, I am carb-intolerant! It would be great to have a get-together sometime... since I now am checking site evey day, please keep in touch. If you need a pat on the back, a cyber hug or just a sounding board, please let me ( as well as our fellow low-carbers) know. Happy holidays...Janice

Hello Janice! I used to live in Portsmouth on Rte 1 so I know where you are!
Hi Carrie, wow, I missed you! I think its nice what you wrote. I have a similar experiece as you but in my case its the husband missing something. Probably the biggest difference is that my husband is a very private man. He's that way even to me. My buddy is as open as I am... no surprises. I like that!
My goodness - Don't you just love this weather.... not!
