I started reading this part of the forum yesterday and I'm SOOO inspired. Everywhere else you read about somebody weighing 150 pounds on a diet and that's just hard to deal with to me. I feel like Atkin's is my last chance to lose weight and keep it off. Its a lifestyle change but definately not what I would call a diet. I lost 100 pounds before on low fat, yet steadily gained it all back within one BAD year. Its great to see so many here in my situation doing so well. I would love the honor in becoming a part of this wonderful group! I'm definately going to need all the help I can get!

Welcome!
I know what you mean about gaining all your weight back quickly from LF. I had a similar experience; I was part of a study once where I (incidentally) had to be weighed every week (oh I hate scales, long story). Anyway, the nurse who did my stats watched me gain 45 pounds in less than 3 months. I think, after a while, the expression of pity on her face made me wince more than the number on the scale.
Well this is different, and you have built in support! That can be a really important aspect when you are trying to change your whole way of eating.
Good luck to you!

Thank you all so much for the welcome and advice! This is a great place and every one of you should be very proud of yourself! I am going through ALOT emotionally right now, I will definately need all the support I can get to care and not fall off this WOE. For now though, I feel strong and ready to be a loser

Hi Amanda,
I just restarted myself last week, and could use a new "to lose with" buddy!
Start a journal for yourself! it really does help to post your thoughts, insights, and a good place to vent too.

I just joined myself (yesterday) and I notice we're both from Northwest IN, which is cool! :) As you can see, everyone jumps in immediately with support and encouragement here - isn't it awesome!?! I think I've found my NEW addiction! lol!
You're on the right track - keep it up! ~Amy~
