I hope everyone is doing well. I have been away from the boards for a few weeks but still sticking to the LC way of eating. I have lost some of my drive that I had the first 6 months but thankfully have not seen my weight go up. I have to weigh next Monday and I am really scared, I have not seen a gain on the scale since I started back in Febuary and I am really afraid that I will on this next weigh in. I have not been walking the way I use to and I have not really cheated, but I have had more of the low carb ice cream, low carb wraps and such then I normally do. I need to knuckle down again and get that fire back that I started with. I have lost 89 lbs and I just be damn if I am gonna slip up now. Just need to talk to you guys and try to get myself cranking again. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thanks Dianna, love you guys to. My fire is not going out, I just need to stoke the flames a bit hehe! I think what it is, is for so long now I was getting use to coming to work seeing my friends and getting all these compliments on how noticable it was I was losing weight, well now everyone is getting use to me losing weight and I dont really have that to fuel my fire. I am really having to dig deep and do a lot of soul searching to keep me going in the right direction. I guess the dedication I have on the inside is the backbone to success on this diet anyways. I guess I have always had that going or I would not have made it this far. Was just kinda nice getting all the attention from everyone. It will be nice to get even smaller and start hearing it again though.

I really do think that there are phases we pass through. Sounds like you are past the first one and into the 2nd one. I think at this point we do have to internalize it and really ask ourselves just what is it we want. Responding with better health and being "normal" just doesn't cut it anymore (at least for me, YMMV).

I find that it's not other folks' comments that keep me motivated either. It's the desire from within to accomplish "something". In my case, that something is that I want to reshape my body and feel sexy for once in my adult life. :D I've gotten a taste of what it's like to buy normal clothes and I love it. Hopefully you can reach down inside and find your "something" soon!

It's great you are back. You have done excellent to lost 89lbs so far. Just keep at it and take one day at a time.

I think Diemde said it perfectly. I do think our interest and drive ebbs and flows just like it does in all areas of our life. And for all of us TDCers, this is a long slow process and the hurdles will definitely come. But if we can ride out those tough times, the weight surely comes down! I think we are more likely to keep it off permenently if we battle our demons as they come up and be patient with ourselves during those times. Progress not perfection!

So glad to see you back!

It's true, when you have a lot of weight to lose like us in the TDC have, it's almost impossible to be 100% perfect the whole time and have a 100% drive all the time we are losing weight. My enthusiasm for losing weight (and thus the effort I'm willing to expend on it) waxes and wanes. Take advantage of the strong times, try to keep control during the slower ones and in the end you'll get to where you want to go!
