I am miserable! If any of you have this or know of its symptoms - then you know how depressing it can be. Burning, spasms, peeing all day and night. I have not had a flare up for 5 years. And have suddenly been bombarded with symptoms this week. I have been following this wol all summer, with no bladder problems. I am not sure what started them up again..but they are here.

Have any of you (if there are any of you out there) noticed an increase of IC symptoms while eating lc? ONe of my friends thinks it is this wol that started me back into the land of pain.....but wouldn't you think i would have noticed it in the first month?

Also - have any of you had the cystoptomy- oh i know that is not spelled right, but i don't feel like looking it up. The hydrodistension and scope procedure? I go back to the urologist on the 21st and it is what they wanted to do last time, but my symptoms subsided and i ran away from the urologist as fast as i could. I am so frightenend of this procedure...but the latest drugs they gave me - 2 days ago are not helping. Advice???? Encouragement???? anyone???

I've had problems with bladder infections for over 10yrs prior to LC. 1-2X/year I'd get an infection. Since LCing, I've not had one infection. I get symptoms at times of an impending infection (pressure when voiding is usually my first symptom), but none have blown up into full infections! I just figured my immune system was in better shape, so I've been able to fight it off.

As for the cystoscopy....I had this done and it's no big deal. Have you ever had a catheter inserted? It's pretty much the same thing. The tube they use is pretty small, and is a bit uncomfortable when it's first inserted, but no way painful!

Make sure you tell your doc you're nervous!
