How should a can of diet rite soda (tangerine, kiwi-strawberry, red raspberry, white grape) be counted? I read that since they contain splenda, we should count it, but also I have read, that liquid splenda is used which is virtually 0 carbs and does not have to be counted like the packets.

Diet Rite uses the pure liquid form of Splenda to sweeten it's prduct so there are no carbs.
The reason we need to count carbs when we use a packet of splenda or the stuff you can measure cup for cup with sugar is because of the bulking agents they have to add to it to make it useable..

I count 0 Carbs for Diet Rite. Although I make sure I get plenty of water throughout the day. I do not limit my diet rites. If I want something sweet, I reach for my Diet Rite and usually have 2 per day.

That is good to know, I do not limit my Diet Rite sodas, also. I drink my water and also de-caf iced tea (completely plain) which gives me extra water. I would like to share something I have discovered with myself. If I have a can of Diet Rite soda around 7:00, 8:00, or 9:00 in the evenings while I am watching my favorite FOX News shows, that has totally eliminated any cravings I have for a snack (sweet or otherwise). That is a big step for me. I used to spend hours trying to figure out what I could over-endulge in that was legal or low-carb, at that time, trying to sneak back into old-bad habits when I would over-endulge in high carb items at that time. I can use a can of Diet Rite soda as my evening snack. Sorry, to bend your ear, I guess I am just proud of myself for discovering something that works!
Thanks.

Does anyone know if Diet Rite is available in Canada?
