I can't take it anymore. I read that red meat and eggs can be a major cause of hives. Ever since I started Low Carbing I have been fighting hives everyday. (3 Months)
I didnt see a correlation sooner becasue as a child I got hives like this before but they came and went and then dissapeared for 20 years...these just stay....everyday.
I am due to see an alergist in one week, has anyone expirienced this from these products or have any advice???
I used to have gout and ever sense I went LC I havent had a problem with gout (interestingly enough)
I'm going to try and and eat nothing but chicken and fish this next week to see if anything changes but I cant take this anymore, my lips blow up and and hurt they go inside my fingers and joints, they are all over my legs and back....
ARRGH! :help:

Awww honey - that sounds really AWFUL!!!! However, my friend does suffer the same way, and her DR suggested she went onto a LC diet right away because it's things like wheat and grains and carbs that can spike it too - so it doesn't look like you can win either way.
I do feel sorry for you - I hope you get some relief for it soon

did your source suggest it was the meat itself, or perhaps by-products and leftovers from what was fed to the cows and chickens?
I seem to be less reactive to foods now that I've added silymarin to my supplement list. I take it once a day but up to 3x if I've been exposed to a lot that works its way out through my liver, and I can feel a major difference.

Check out the Candida forum as this also sounds like something that comes from yeast die-off when you start LCing. The milk thistle might help there too.
I sure hope you feel better fast.

I dont really have a source...it has been just what I reead today aboutArachidonic Acid. I have been eating tons of red meat and eggs since I started induction because I like the flavor...but I may have been going overboard.
Now Im drinking a ton of water and going to get niacin and some other things.
My blood pressure for the last 2 days has been 170 over 100 and Im only 37. One of the side effects from Arach Acid was high blood pressure :( so I got to back up a bit and rethink my course of direction. Thank you for all the support and advice.
I'll look into the yeast thing...I dont know much about that at all.
