Hello,

I am new to the forums, well really the whole site. I was told I had Graves 20 years ago and chose the RAI right away (it was after the birth of my second child) It did take a while to kick in and in the mean time my eyes got pretty "buggy" being I was PG. at the time I had to wait to give birth before taking the treatment.....I ate about 6-8 thousand calories a day to keep my baby alive......anyway...All these years.... to be honest I have felt pretty good. True it took about 2 years to stop catching colds all the time.....and I do carry alot of extra weight. But when you consider the flip side of this.....I will TAKE the meds and the trouble I JUST started having with my eyes.....seems that one of my eyelids has never closed all the way when I sleep....just stay open a little.....enough to dry out my eyes and now the pressures (glacoma) are higher then they would like......but this will be worked out......just do what ever your drs. say and stay aware of your won body.........Keep your chin up everyone!!!

we have been worried sick about her.

Two endocrinologists do not agree. One recommends surgery. She went to another one for a second opinion and the second one says no surgery until after delivery. Her eyes are "buggy". She is also losing some weight.
She has decided to not have the surgery until after her baby is born.
She is due to deliver in about 3 months.

I never had any experience with thyroid problems and never realized how scary it is and how difficult treatment can be. She is also going to a high risk pregnancy doctor who agrees with no surgery now.

So, all we can do is hope and pray that all goes well with both of them.
